DC2 Holy Daedalus Blade Papercraft

The 2002 Dark Cloud 2 video game features two playable characters, a boy named Maximilian and a girl named Monica. Monica is a royal who receives a sword from her father, King Raybrandt. This sword is known as the "Holy Daedalus Blade." The paper model pictured is a 1:2 scale replica of that blade. This is my 136th papercraft release! Maple Story Bow and Arrow Papercraft

Around 2008, there were a lot of 3D papercrafts of characters and items from the 2D Korean video game, MapleStory. Seventeen years later, these paper models are tough to find. This MapleStory bow and arrow known as the "Vaulter 2000" is one of those hard-to-find models. The PDF template for this model is still available and may be downloaded from MediaFire. There are no instructions, other than a series of photos which are included in the download. The finished model is small enough to fit in the palm of one's hand.

Skyrim Papercraft: Glass Sword

The last time I posted a Skyrim papercraft was 2015. I am overdue! Pictured is a 1:1 scale paper model of a glass sword from the video game. How can a sword be made of glass you say? The Elder Scrolls Wiki explains:

"Despite their name, 'glass' weapons are not made of actual glass, but of refined Malachite, a strong, glass-like green stone which can be sharpened to a fine edge..."

This model was created by Broken Papercrafts. The template is available in Pepakura PDO format only and may be downloaded here. The download includes two textures, one to make a green bladed sword, and another to make one that is blue bladed (pictured).

Roman Siege Tower Papercraft

These papercraft Roman siege towers were created as an educational activity to teach kids what warfare was like 2000 years ago. The accompanying literature outlines how the Romans used such towers to besiege Jerusalem in 70 AD. In addition to the siege tower, the papercraft set includes 15mm scale soldiers, a catapult, and a ballista. (Sorry, a castle to besiege is not included!) Godzilla Maser Cannon Papercraft

In twelve different movies in the Godzilla franchise, humans fight back against the kaiju from the deep using a fictional weapon called a "maser cannon". Now there is such a thing as a maser in real life, but it is used primarily in atomic clocks and not as a weapon. Maser is an acronym for Microwave Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. This paper model depicts the maser cannon that appeared in the 2002 film, Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla. The PDF template for the model was created by Shunichi Makino and may be downloaded from his website, SF Papercraft Gallery. The very first appearance of a maser cannon in a movie was in War of the Gargantuas (1966) which features two gigantic hairy "Frankensteins" battling it out in Tokyo.

Darth Maul Lightsaber Papercraft

Remember in Star Wars: Episode 1 when Obi-Wan sliced Darth Maul's double-bladed lightsaber in half (then sliced Darth Maul in half)? ^^ This paper model is of Maul's battle damaged weapon from that scene. The Pepakura PDO template for the model may be downloaded here. I am not sure of the scale of the model. It appears to be close to 1:1 scale. No matter, the PDO file is unlocked, so it may scaled to any size you like. Interesting fact: Savage Opress, Maul's brother, also wields a two bladed light saber.

MCU Thor Stormbreaker Papercraft

Since I have posted about paper models of nearly every other version of the war hammer of Marvel Comics' Thor, I felt compelled to post about this model too. ;) In the movie, Avengers: Infinity War, Thor gets a new hammer named "Stormbreaker". The tree-like being Groot willingly sacrifices his arm to provide a handle for the weapon. This 3D papercraft likeness of Stormbreaker was created by Precision Papercraft.  The Pepakura PDO template for the model may be downloaded here. The finished hammer is about 2' (61 cm) tall, which is somewhat smaller than the hammer appears in the movie.

Star Wars Laser Cannon Papercraft

This is my papercraft release for the month of July (see a list of previous releases here). You will probably recognize this weapon as a common one in the Star Wars universe. Although I have labeled it the generic term "laser cannon", it might more properly be called a "turbolaser turret". The first time we saw a weapon of this type was on the surface of the Death Star in Star Wars Episode IV. I am offering two sizes of this paper model: a 1:18 scale version for use with 3 3/4" action figures and a 35 mm scale version for use with miniature gaming figures. Templates for both sizes may be downloaded here. This papercraft was based on a 3D model from the Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy video game.

Hobbit Papercraft: Elvenking Sword

This life size paper model is of the Elvenking's sword as it appears in the Hobbit movies directed by Peter Jackson. The Elvenking's name is Thranduil. He is the father of Legolas, an elf played by Orlando Bloom in both The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogies. Papercraft Star Trek TOS Phaser Rifle

In a 1966 episode of the original Star Trek TV show ("Where No Man Has Gone Before"), Captain Kirk can be seen toting a somewhat odd looking rifle. For those of us who are fond of such retro sci-fi weapons, Perry's Paper offers a free 1/3 scale printable paper model of the gun. In the Star Trek universe, the technical name for such a gun is a "type 3 phaser", but in most cases it is referred to simply as a "phaser rifle".

Battlestar Galactica Colonial Blaster Papercraft

Here's a blast from the past (no pun intended): a full size paper model of a Colonial blaster pistol from the original Battlestar Galactica television series. The model is somewhat complicated to build as some of the parts in the muzzle are constructed from sheets of clear plastic, but the end result is marvelous! The PDF template for the gun was created by Marcell von dem Berge and may be downloaded at Steve's Paper. Battlestar Galactica aired on ABC for a single season which began in 1978.

Elder Scolls Trebuchet Paper Model

Elder Scrolls Online is a MMORPG released in 2014. The events of the game occur in the same universe (but 1000 years before) the events of the Elder Scrolls: Skyrim video game. This paper model of a trebuchet from the game was created by Rocketman Tan. A trebuchet is a type of siege engine that gained popularity in the Middle Ages. It operates by making use of a counterweight to fling projectiles. A PDF template for the trebuchet model may be downloaded here.

LotR Papercraft: Bilbo's Sword Sting

In The Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins finds his trusty sword "Sting" in a pile of treasure horded by trolls. Sting is actually an Elf dagger, but to Bilbo, a halfling, the dagger is large enough to be used as a sword. This life-size papercraft recreation of the movie version of Sting is the work of DeviantARTist hugo-drax. The Pepakura PDO template for the model may be downloaded here. Crossfire Papercraft Weapons Assortment

Crossfire is a Korean online first person shooter video game. It was first released in 2007. These life-size papercraft weapons were based on 3D models from the game. Pictured are a Scar Light rifle, a BC Royal Dragon axe, a Deagle Gold pistol and a Deagle Green Vein pistol. All these models are the work of deviantART member Svanced. Doctor Who Sontaran Rifle Papercraft

In the Doctor Who universe, Sontarans are a militaristic alien race from the planet Sontar. As Sontarans have only three stubby fingers on each hand, their guns are designed with large holes to accommodate grasping the weapons. This papercraft Sontaran laser rifle is based on a model from the Doctor Who: The Adventure Games video game. The Pepakura PDO template for the rifle was created by Movieman and may be downloaded here.

Hawkgirl Mace Papercraft

The weapon of choice for DC Comics' Hawkgirl is a mace. In the Justice League animated series, Hawkgirl's mace is made out of Nth metal which has anti-magic properties. This paper model of the mace was created by DeviantART member Mand-rinn. The template may be downloaded here.

Rachet and Clank OmniWrench 12000 Papercraft

The OmniWrench 12000 is one of the more powerful weapons in the Rachet & Clank series of video games. As an added bonus, in the game an OmniWrench may used to repair items as well as attack enemies. This paper model of the OmniWrench 12000 was created by DeviantART member Mickey103.

Retro Ray Gun Papercraft

Ray at Ravensblight has added a delightful retro sci-fi pistol to his collection of free papercraft templates.  The gun, which is officially named an "electrospheric ray gun", would not look out of place in an episode of Flash Gordon. The template for the gun may be downloaded here.

Entropia Universe Pistol Papercraft

As described by their website, Entropia Universe is "an advanced 3D online virtual environment with a developed planetary system and one universal Real Cash Economy system." Entropia Universe made the Guinness Book of World Records in 2010 when a virtual resort in the game sold for $635,000 USD. This Entropia pistol is one of several papercraft fan art creations that may be downloaded from the Planet Calypso Forum. Also available are an assault rifle and a spider bomber robot.

Adventure Time Demon Blood Sword Papercraft

The Demon Blood Sword is the longest of the many swords Finn uses in the Adventure Time animated series. The sword is supposedly composed of demon blood which is ironic given the sword's basic shape is that of a Celtic cross.
