One of the better known inventions of Leonardo da Vinci is his military "fighting vehicle" (aka "turtle tank"). Movement of the vehicle was powered by four men inside operating hand cranks. The idea was to move into the midst of a company of enemy soldiers and then open fire with the cannons mounted around the sides. This paper model of the fighting vehicle may be downloaded at the Russian "Museum on a Desk" web page located
here (the two page template is at the bottom). The style of the template reminds me a lot of the templates that used to be published in the Czech children's magazine,
ABC.
