David Bowie Paper Toy Tribute

Many of us were saddened by the passing of musician David Bowie this week. As a tribute to Bowie, DeviantART member Scarykurt created a paper toy entitled "Love you Bowie". The toy is based on the cubee method of paper toy construction, so no glue is required. The JPG template for the toy is available for download here. Rest in peace Major Tom!

Grumpy Cat Cubee

In honor of Grumpy Cat's second birthday last year, CatchMyParty created a Grumpy Cat paper toy. The toy is based on the Cubeecraft template, so that means no glue required! The printable template includes two blank thought bubbles, so you can have Grumpy say whatever you like. My favorite GC phrase is a simple "No". :)

Princess Mononoke Cubees

Here's some Cubee paper toy characters from Studio Ghibli's 1997 movie, Princess Mononoke. On the left is Princess Mononoke herself, a girl named San who was raised in the forest by the 300 year old wolf god, Moro no Kimi (on the right). These cubees were created by DeviantART member Scarykurt. The templates may be downloaded here.

Deadpool Cubee Paper Toy

There are quite a few Deadpool cubees around, but this one by Randyfivesix is my favorite. Although not pictured above, this paper toy includes Deadpool's signature katana swords. The two pages of the template are available here. Deadpool is a Marvel Comics character created by artist Rob Liefield in 1991.

Santa Yoda Christmas Paper Toy

If you are looking for paper toys that combine Star Wars and Christmas, this is your lucky day. ^^ For the 2011 holiday season, Cyberdrone has released a cubee Yoda dressed as Santa Claus. Space Paranoids Arcade Cabinet Papercraft (Tron)

Here's a paper model by Cyberdrone of a fictional arcade cabinet for a fictional video game. ^^ The video game Space Paranoids appeared in the original Tron movie, but was never produced in real life (that is, if you don't include the custom cabinets at Flynn's Arcade in San Diego). Just the right scale for action figures, Cyberdrone's papercraft model of the Space Paranoids cabinet is based on the glue-less Cubeecraft method of construction. Robocop Cubee Paper Toy

Considered by many to be one of the better science fiction movies of the late 80's, Robocop tells the story a terminally wounded Detroit police officer who returns to service as a cyborg. This cubee paper toy is Randyfivesix's take on the silver crimefighter. The two page template for the toy is available here.

Lady Gaga Just Dance Cubee

This cubee paper toy shows recording artist Lady Gaga in the costume she wore in the music video for the song Just Dance. Just Dance was the hit single that began Gaga's rise to stardom. This custom cubee is the work of 'Yamino at DeviantART. A download of the template is available here.

Tron Legacy Papercraft: Sam Flynn Cubee

The new Tron: Legacy movie will be released tomorrow in the US! Here's a custom Tron cubee by randyfivesix at DeviantART. Although not labeled as such, it presumably represents Sam Flynn dressed in his arena battle gear. Sam Flynn is the main character in Tron: Legacy. The template for the cubee is available here.

Black Hole Papercraft: V.I.N.CENT & B.O.B. Robots

Back in 1979 Disney tried to cash in on the Science Fiction movie craze caused by Star Wars and the result was The Black Hole. These two hovering robots known as V.I.N.CENT and B.O.B are from that movie. Another fine couple of sci fi papercraft by Cyberdrone based on the glue-less Cubee template, they may be downloaded here and here.

Marvel Comics Papercraft: Galactus Cubee

Another one of those fantastic comic book characters created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, Galactus is a giant being described in the pages of one Marvel comic book as "the most awesome living entity in the cosmos". To befit Galactus' titanic stature, deviantART member Viper005 has created a king size custom Cubee papercraft which is greater than twice the size of a usual Cubee (see the blank normal size Cubee in the photo for comparison). Ghostbusters Papercraft: PKE Meter & Ghost Trap

DeviantART user Cyberdrone has done some creative reworking of the glue-less Cubee paper toy template to create some awesome Ghostbusters movie props. On the left is a psycho kinetic energy (PKE) meter which the Ghostbusters use to detect the presence of ghosts. On the right is a ghost trap used to contain ghosts after they are captured. Darth Maul Cubee with Sith Speeder

Illustration student Richard Sullivan was given an assignment at school to create a custom Cubee using a known character and this Darth Maul was the result. Why didn't I have these kind of assignments in school? ^^ The final template is three pages and includes two different Maul heads, two capes, a double light saber, and a Sith Speeder. Custom Star Wars Cubee Papertoys

DeviantART user "Cyberdrone" has taken the free blank Cubeecraft template and created a collection of 30 custom Star Wars papercraft toys. As far as I know, each of these is an original creation which has not been posted in the official Cubeecraft gallery. Some of the other characters available but not pictured above include Count Dooku, Ashoka Tano, Kit Fisto, IG-88, Jango Fett, Mace Windu, Darth Nihilus, a Jawa, and a gonk droid.
