Spanish Church Paper Model

The Santa Cristina de Lena church in northern Spain was completed in 852 AD. It's completion date places it in the Pre-Romanesque period. This excellent paper model of the church was created by Secanda in 2016. The free PDF template for the model may be downloaded from Secanda's website. The feature that sets this paper model apart from other models is that the roof may be removed to reveal the interior of the building. The scale of the finished model is 1:100.

Old Church Papercraft

Once upon a time, there was an Italian papercraft company named Odissey that had some really nice free samples. The company is long gone, but if you look carefully, you can still find some of the free samples hiding in the far corners of the Internet. One such sample is the Old Church paper model pictured. The printable PDF for the church may be downloaded from the archive located HERE. Instructions are included in the download, but be aware the text is in Italian. Be that as it may, the images in the instructions are good enough that the text should not be needed. This model is a good size for miniature gaming and RPG games.

Country Church Paper Model

This country church is part of a collection of architecture paper models based on buildings seen in the Hallmark Channel series, When Calls the Heart. The series is set in 1910 in the fictional Canadian town of Hope Valley. The papercraft collection includes 18 different models including various mercantile buildings, a water tower, row houses, ground textures, and backdrops. Whether you are a fan of the show or not, I think these models would make a great Christmas village. Printable PDFs for each of the buildings may be downloaded here.

Architecture Papercraft: German Tower and Church

These two free architecture paper models are offered on the website of the Administration of Teltow-Fläming, a district in the state of Brandenburg, Germany. On the left is the market tower of the city of Luckenwalde. On the right is the village church of the city of Mellnsdorf. Both these landmarks were under construction in the first half of the 13th century. The scale of the paper models is 1:87 (HO). High resolution photographs of the actual buildings were used to create the PDF papecraft templates which may be downloaded here.

45 Paper Models of Czech Churches

Papercraft designer, Pavel Styl, specializes in creating scale models of Czech ecclesiastical architecture.  To date, Pavel has released paper model templates for forty five different church buildings.  The types of models range from small chapels, to free-standing bell towers, to large parish churches. At his website (located here) Pavel graciously offers free downloads of all his creations.

Tiny Papercraft Christmas Village

This tiny papercraft Christmas village designed by Kallboys depicts the Christmas Market in the town of Mondorf, Germany. The two larger buildings shown in the diorama are the Castle-like Café Hafenschlösschen and St. Laurentius Church. The PDF template for the model may be downloaded here. In the build photo above by saltacornu the template was printed at half the size of the original.

Greek Island Church Paper Model

Pepachal has added to their collection of paper models of ruined churches. First in the series was an Irish stone church, followed by an English brick church, and now we have a whitewashed Greek church. I did some research and it appears that this model is based on a cemetery church near the village of Apiranthos on the island of Naxos. The PDF template for this church may be downloaded here.

Fictional Castle and Cathedral Paper Models

This papercraft castle and cathedral by French papercrafter Jonathan were created with children in mind. Both buildings are fictional creations, however each is designed to an approximate scale. The castle is 1:100 scale while the cathedral is 1:200 scale. Jonathan suggests building these with your kids on long winter days when they are unable to play outside. Red Brick English Church Paper Model

Here's another great architecture papercraft from Pepachal. The text with this paper building describes it as being a "creepy" church in rural Yorkshire, England, but I am guessing that the building is fictional. The deeply recessed windows and the use of photorealistic textures on this paper model give it a nice solid feel. The template with instructions in PDF format is available here.
