Predator Scout Ship Papercraft

Czech paper model designer, Rawen, created two different paper models of the Yautja scout ship seen in the original Predator movie. Rawen describes the models as:

"Two versions of the spaceship that we could see in the first seconds of the movie, Predator (1987). The model of the ship for the movie was very low detailed, as it only flashed on the screen. You can glue together both, this simple version and a much more colorful version based on my imagination."

The "colorful version" he mentions is pictured. Rawen offers a free download of the PDF templates for both ships on MediaFire.

Star Trek Papercraft: USS Grissom

The science vessel starship USS Grissom appeared in the 1984 movie, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. This 1:760 scale paper model of the ship was created by Martin Sanger. A copy of the .BMP template for the ship may be downloaded from Sanger's website. Sanger has this to say about the starship:

The USS Grissom, NCC-638, was one of the most famous research spaceships of the Oberth class. These small Federation ships were designed to explore planets, nebulae and other natural phenomena...  The last mission of the USS Grissom was the exploration and research of the newly created planet Genesis. However, the ship was attacked by a Klingon Bird of Prey in orbit of the planet and completely destroyed.

Flash Gordon War Rocket Papercraft

The best part of the 1980 movie Flash Gordon was the awesome soundtrack by the rock group Queen. Coming in close second are the retro spaceship and costume designs created for the movie. In homage to the movie, this papercraft "War Rocket Ajax" was created by designer, Rawen. The PDF template for the paper model is available on MediaFire. The finished rocket is something of a "micro model" in that it is only slightly larger than the palm of your hand.

Star Wars Super Star Destroyer Papercraft

Most likely the largest spacecraft seen in any Star War movie, the Executor is the "Super Star Destroyer" that served as Darth Vader's flagship in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. In real life, the Executor would be 12 miles (19 kilometers) long! This 1: 33000 scale paper model of the Executor was created by Rawen. The cool thing about the template is it also includes a model of a regular size Star Destroyer for size comparison.

Spaceball One Paper Model

Spaceballs is a 1987 spoof of the original Star Wars movie from 1977. In the movie, the parody of Darth Vader, Dark Helmet, has an enormous starship named Spaceball One. This miniature papercraft of the Spaceball One was created by paper model designer, Rawen. There are lots of nice touches in the detailing of the model, like the inclusion of the "WE BRAKE FOR NOBODY" bumper sticker on the back of the ship, as seen in the movie. The PDF template for the model may be found at this download link. Included in the download is a bonus template to build a 1/250 scale model of everyone's favorite flying Winnebago, the Eagle 5.

STtMP Enterprise Papercraft

This 1:700 scale USS Enterprise paper model depicts how the starship appears in the 1979 movie, Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Rawen, the designer of this papercaft, typically produces miniature models. This is one of his larger creations. The 62 mb ZIP file containing the PDF template and instruction files necessary to build the ship may be downloaded here. There are lots of extras included in the download, including a poseable Captain Spock figure with captain's chair, alternate parts to build NCC-1701-A, and a fleet of shuttles!

Easy Mini Star Destroyer Papercraft

Japanese papercraft designer, Masayu-i, created several free paper models as "gifts" during the coronavirus lockdown in 2020 to help those shut in cope with the situation. One of these models was the simple mini Star Wars Star Destroyer pictured above. The template for the model may be downloaded here. As you can see there are two ships included in the template, one half the size of the other. The model is not any particular scale. Print as large or as small as you like!

The second Battlestar Galactica television series aired from 2004 to 2009. During its five year run, it featured all types of starships, aircraft, and land rovers. Over the years, fans of the show have produced paper models of many of these vehicles. The Steve's Paper website has gathered over 25 of these models in one place. Pictured are a few examples. Star Wars Papercraft: Moldy Crow

The Moldy Crow is a spaceship that appears in two Star Wars video games: Dark Forces and Jedi Knight - Dark Forces II. In the games, the ship is piloted by Kyle Katarn, a mercenary who eventually becomes a Jedi. This easy paper model of the Crow was created by Goozi. The unlocked Pepakura PDO template for the model may be downloaded here.  After the Moldy Crow is destroyed, Kyle Katarn acquires a new ship named Raven's Claw.

Mandalorian Razor Crest Papercraft

Hot off the press, here is a Star Wars paper model from the ever popular Disney+ show, The Mandalorian. This 1:250 scale model is of Razor Crest, the Mandalorian's own ship. The printable PDF template for the model was created by PRmodels and may be downloaded here. The Razor Crest is a former military patrol craft that was customized by the Mandalorian to meet his bounty hunting needs.

Star Trek Papercraft: Mini Wrath of Khan Ships

My favorite motion picture of  the original series of Star Trek movies is Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. In the film, Captain Kirk and Khan battle each other in space, Kirk in the U.S.S. Enterprise (of course!) and Khan in the U.S.S. Reliant which he has commandeered. These mini paper models of the Enterprise and the Reliant were created by Rawen. PDF templates for the ships may be downloaded here. I am not entirely sure, but I believe these models are 1:250 scale.

Mercury Capsule Paper Model

Project Mercury was the United States' first human spaceflight program. There were six flights in all. The first occurred in 1961 and the last in 1963. This 1:24 scale paper model of the Mercury capsule comes with the launch escape system (LES) used in the flights. The idea was if there was a problem with the launch, the red rocket would fire and lift the capsule off the top of the main rocket, carrying it away to safety. The printable PDF template for the capsule may be downloaded here. The model was designed by T. Noteboom in 2004.

Falcon Heavy with Tesla Roadster Paper Model

The Falcon Heavy is a rocket produced by Elon Musk's company, SpaceX. For the Falcon Heavy's first launch into space, Musk had his own red Tesla Roadster attached to the second stage to act as a dummy payload. In the driver's seat of the roadster is a mannequin wearing a spacesuit. The mannequin was dubbed "Starman" before the launch. AXM Paper Space Scale Models has created a free 1:100 scale paper model of the Falcon Heavy which includes Musk's Tesla. The files for the model may be downloaded here. Build options include building the entire Falcon Heavy or building a diorama of just the second stage (pictured above).

Super Deformed Space Shuttle Paper Toy

This "super deformed" space shuttle paper toy was created by Korean designer Suk Woo Jang (aka 1000DAY). Building this toy is interesting because most of its construction is curved rather than folded. A printable PDF for the model may be downloaded here.

Star Wars A-wing Paper Model

The A-wing starfighter made its first movie appearance in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. In the movie a squadron of A-wings fight for the Rebel Alliance at the Battle of Endor. This papercraft A-wing model was originally designed by Makino Shunich in 2010, however he made some modifications to the template in 2018. Space 1999 Eagle Paper Model

In 2011 I posted an easy Space 1999 Eagle transporter paper model. Here is a slightly more detailed model of the same spacecraft by Papertoybox. One noticeable difference between the two models is the top of the newer Eagle model has an actual 3D triangulated frame rather than the boxed-in piece the 2011 model has. The PDF template for the transporter may be downloaded here. The designer has photo instructions available as well. The Space 1999 television show aired for two years from 1975 to 1977.

Star Wars Imperial Shuttle Tydirium Paper Model

In Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, General Han Solo uses a stolen Imperial shuttle to land a strike team on the forest moon of Endor. The name of the shuttle is the Tydirium. This 1:100 scale paper model of the Tydirium was created by Artur Rozek. A free download of the printable template for the model may be found here. The technical name for Imperial shuttles of this type is "Lambda-class T-4a".

Star Wars First Order AAL Paper Model

The first two movies of the newest Star Wars trilogy have introduced loads of new spaceships and vehicles. In Star Wars: The Force Awakens we had our first glimpse of the New Order's Atmospheric Assault Lander (AAL). An AAL is a troop carrier that functions much like the Cheyenne dropships in the Alien franchise. The AAL can transport up to twenty stormtroopers. Near the tower at the rear of the ship is a gun turret to provide protection for the troops as they disembark. This 28-30mm scale AAL paper model was created by Papierschnitzel. Star Trek Klingon Bird of Prey Paper Model

This Klingon Bird of Prey paper model is more specifically a B'rel Class light warship. If I am not mistaken, it is the same type of ship that appears in the 1986 movie Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. There are two sizes of the model available: the size pictured in the photo and a smaller version that is 1:1000 scale. Templates for both models may be downloaded at Clever PaperModel.

Star Trek Andorian Battle Cruiser Paper Model

This paper model of the starship Kumari was created by German designer, TarsFerak. The Kumari is an Andorian battle cruiser which appeared on the 2001 television series Star Trek: Enterprise. The blue skinned Andorians have a long history in the Star Trek franchise, first appearing in the original 1966 TV series in an episode entitled "Journey to Babel". The papercraft template for this model may be downloaded here. The scale of the model is 1:1700.
