Kingdom Hearts Papercraft: Jafar's Black Lamp

At the end of the 1992 Disney movie Aladdin there is a battle. In this battle Jafar, the film's villain, is tricked by the hero Aladdin into using this third and final wish from a genie to transform into a powerful genie himself. Aladdin then traps Jafar in his genie form in a black lamp. A similar scenario plays itself out in the Kingdom Hearts I video game, only this time it is the game's main character Sora who traps Jafar in the lamp. This black lamp papercraft is based on a 3D model from Kingdom Hearts. Details are as follows:

Scale 1:1
Number of pages: 5
Number of parts: 14
Size: 14" (35.5 cm) in length
Difficulty: 3/5
Download (PDF & PDO)

Since the lamp is so dark in color, I recommend coloring the exposed white paper edges of the finished model.

  1. This is a cool looking model. You should release a gold version for Genie's Lamp. That would rock.

  2. Jafar's Lamp is amazing in its geometry! C.Jefferson OConner did a great job.

    However, 2 drawbacks I found:
    1) There were no glue tabs indicated for attaching the handle to the main body. I didn't realize this until assembly of the main pieces (as suggested). I ended up having to glue the edges straight onto the surface of the main body. So far it is holding...

    2) Similar for the knob on top. Though there were 4 little white diamonds where it turned out to be the knob's bottom, it was not clear (to me anyway) what they were.

I'll eventually build this again on photographic paper to catch the full hue differentiation in the printing.

I second doctorwho_03's request for a gold version.
