Vintage Disney Nottingham Castle Papercraft

The template for this vintage Disney paper model was originally released in installments in 1977 in a German magazine for children. The model is of Nottingham Castle which appears in the 1973 animated Disney film, Robin Hood. Although difficult to see in the image, the castle is laid out in the shape of an octagon. In addition to the castle walls and towers, the model comes with several cutouts of characters from the movie. The JPG format template for the model may be downloaded here.

Nintendo Papercraft: Peach Castle

This papercraft of Princess Peach's castle is based on a model from the Super Mario Odyssey video game. In SMO, the castle's design is very similar to how it appears in other Nintendo video games. The model was designed by Emily Stell and may be downloaded here. The finished model is smaller than it may appear in the photo. For an idea of the size: the dimensions of the base are 9.8" (25 cm) by 6" (15 cm).

Medieval Czech Fortress Paper Model

This 1:150 scale paper model is a reconstruction of Mstěnice Castle, a medieval fortress that once stood near the town of Hrotovice in the Czech Republic. The castle and nearby village were destroyed when Hungarian forces invaded the area in 1468. Neither the castle nor the village were ever rebuilt. The paper model design is based on recent archaeological findings. A free papercraft template for the fortress in PDF format may be downloaded here. Like every good castle, Mstěnice Castle is thought to have had a moat and drawbridge. :)

Italian Castle Paper Model

Castello della Rocche is a castle built in 1402 in the Province of Modena, Italy. The structure suffered heavy damage during the Emilia earthquake that hit the region in 2012. The castle was closed for a time for repairs, but is currently open to the public. This paper model of the castle was created by TeoDom paper models and may be downloaded here. Fantasy Castle Paper Model

Mike vom Mars used Cinema4D 3D modeling software to create a make-believe medieval castle. He then exported the model to Pepakura Designer and created a papercraft template. Pictured is a photo of the finished paper model with some grass and trees added for effect. Mike admits the architecture of the model is an odd mixture of styles seeing how he added a dome which was rarely used in the Middle Ages. German Papercraft Castle

This paper model castle was originally published in the German language children's magazine Fixi und Foxi in 1983. The interesting thing about this particular model is that it was designed by Schreiber, a well known publisher of card models. The four page template for the model may be found here. I am unsure if this papercraft is a real or fictional building. The official title of the model is "Schloß Rosenberg" but a quick Internet search of that name did not reveal any real life buildings that look remotely like the model. If you have more information about this building please let me know.

Miniature Papercraft Fantasy Castle

The template for this miniature papercraft castle originally appeared in the June 1984 issue of Dragon Magazine, a publication dedicated to the subject of role playing games. The official name of the castle is "The High Keep of the Grand Chapter of the Order of St. Raphael". However, to keep things short it was given the nickname "Great Stoney". Six Vintage Papercraft Castles

I love these six little vintage papercraft castles, but their origin is a mystery. The only clue to be found is that the templates for the castles list the publisher as "Edivas, Barcelona, Spain". There is no date to indicate how old they might be. From what information I was able to find, it appears that these six castles are part of a paper model series that includes at least nine models. Vintage Disney: Cinderella Castle Paper Model

The German website "Seite 42" (Page 42) has hundreds of scans of paper model templates from old Disney magazines. This 1978 Cinderella Castle is one of the more elaborate of the models. The six part download of the template may be found here. If you don't know German, you will have to make do with the diagrams, photos, and numbers in order to complete the model. Medieval Castle Papercraft

This papercraft medieval-style castle is nicely detailed for its size. To get an idea of the scale of the model, the green base is roughly the size of a sheet of A4 paper.The model was designed by the Catalonian architecture firm, emeARQ, as a St. Jordi Day gift for the followers of their blog. Papercraft Castle Lantern

This easy-to-build papercraft castle lantern has a template with only four parts. A soft glow in the windows is achieved by covering them with tissue paper and placing a LED votive inside. The JPG template for the lantern may be downloaded at Sweet Paul.

Mike the Knight Papercraft Castle

Mike the Knight is an animated television show that in the US airs on Nick Jr, a channel aimed at younger children. The Nick Jr website offers printables of many kinds including this paper model of Mike the Knight’s castle. Also, available are cut outs of characters from the show that may be used with the castle.

Papercraft Castle

This papercraft castle was created by Monica who lives in Northern Sweden. Inspired by Kilkenny Castle in Ireland, the model was constructed using color card stock and double sided tape. The template download for the castle includes several different file formats, including files that may be used as cutting files for Craft Robo cutting machines. Tiny Papercraft Himeji Castle

My DeviantART bud SarienSpiderDroid built this tiny paper model of the keep of Himeji Castle in Japan. Not intended to be so small, Sarien reduced the template for the model to 25% of its original size. Himeji Castle is the largest and most visited castle in Japan.

Fictional Castle and Cathedral Paper Models

This papercraft castle and cathedral by French papercrafter Jonathan were created with children in mind. Both buildings are fictional creations, however each is designed to an approximate scale. The castle is 1:100 scale while the cathedral is 1:200 scale. Jonathan suggests building these with your kids on long winter days when they are unable to play outside. Modular Miniature Gaming Castle Papercraft

This castle is a fan modification of a 3D papercraft creation by Fat Dragon Games, a company that produces finely detailed paper buildings and props for miniature games such as Heroclix. The castle is built from modular papercraft units that are stacked on top of each other. The octagonal tower parts come in a free multi-layered, customizable PDF file.
