Easy Miniature Schnauzer Papercraft

Miniature Schnauzer Bastelbogen
Here's an easy dog papercraft of a Miniature Schnauzer. The American Kennel Club, describes this breed of dog as:

"Created to be all-around farm dogs and ratters, they are tough, muscular, and fearless without being aggressive. The Miniature Schnauzer is a bright, friendly, trainable companion, small enough to adapt to apartment life but tireless enough to patrol acres of farmland. They get along well with other animals and kids. Minis are sturdy little guys and enjoy vigorous play. Home and family oriented, they make great watchdogs."

Pokémon Dog Bastelbogen
This Pokémon looks suspiciously like a corgi dog! Could it be that after 8 generations they have finally run out of ideas for new Pokémon? Nah. This paper likeness of Yamper the Pokédog was created by Emily Stell at the Paper Duplicator website. PDF and Pepakura PDO papercraft template files may be downloaded here. The finished model stands about 5" (12 cm) tall.

Illusion Papercraft Collection

Illusion Animal Bastelbogen
The folks at the education website, e*chalk, have a collection of papercraft illusions available for download. Sure, you know the illusion, the one where the character's head turns to follow you no matter where you move in the room. E*chalk calls their version of this trick "Swivel Heads". Four of the twelve illusions available are pictured. The ones not pictured are a cat, a fox, a dragon, a knight, a duck, a horse, a rooster and a skeleton. I wouldn't build too many of these.  The effect of a dozen pair of eyes following your every move can be kind of creepy! ;)

Doge Illusion Papercraft

It all started, I believe, with a dragon. It's eyes followed you no matter where you went in the room. From there, the papercraft illusion evolved into a myriad of characters, all with the same unwavering stare. Pictured is a version of the illusion that features the dog (a Shiba Inu to be precise) from the "Doge" meme. The printable template for this illusion may be downloaded here. Photo and design by Muumin Craft.

Templates for the characters are hard to find these days, but Scooby at least is still available here. The build photo above is by Josh at Sidewinder's Model Works.

Disney Papercraft: Lady and the Tramp Paper Toys

These Lady and the Tramp paper toys remind me of Valentine's Day. I'll let the folks at listverse explain why:
"It’s difficult to single out another exact moment in all of the vast Disney collection that’s more charming, creative, tender, iconic and downright romantic, than when the cocker spaniel and the schnauzer-mix in Lady and the Tramp serendipitously pull each other into a kiss when they slurp up the same noodle from a plate of spaghetti."

Cartoon Dog Papercraft

Every once in a while I like to do a quick and simple build just for fun, so this cartoon dog was a welcome find. Officially titled "Doggy Woggy", this papercraft was created by budding cartoonist Trey Chavez as a Father's Day present in 2008. It has only four pieces but it did take a little longer than I expected because I had to improvise my own gluing flaps. The template for this doggy can be found here. (Oh, by the way, I think I attached the dog's ears a little different than Trey may have intended ^^)

Robot Dog Illusion Papercraft

Entitled "Super Robot: Dog Version", this papercraft was designed by graphic designer Tanarat Ruamwang, Thailand, 2008. Both the template for the robot dog and a blank template to create your own illusion papercraft are available at Ruamwang's blog here.

Doctor Who Papercraft - K9 Robot

The template for this K9 robot dog paper model originally appeared in issue #3 of Doctor Who Adventures Magazine. I built the above K9 from a template scan by UK Doctor Who fan, Sean Huxter. In order to create a cleaner looking finished model, Huxter modified the original magazine template by erasing the dashed fold lines. A JPG image of the modified template is available on Huxter's website here.
