Splatoon Papercraft: Agent 8

Splatoon is a third-person shooter video game by Nintendo. The characters in the game are humanoid octopuses (Octolings) and squids (Inklings). This papercraft figure is of the female version of the playable Octoling character known as "Agent 8." The printable template for this papercraft comes in Pepakura PDO and PDF formats, both which may be downloaded at the Pepakura Gallery. Photo instructions are included in the download, however the text is Japanese. There are currently four different games in the Splatoon franchise.

Mini SNES Papercraft

I have always been a sucker for miniature papercraft. This mini papercraft of the old Super Nintendo Entertainment System is one example. Created by DeviantART member Ryo007 in 2008, this paper model has some lengths of old wired earbud cable added for greater realism. The single page JPG template for the model may be downloaded from Ryo007's DeviantART page. The SNES was released in the US in 1991.

Mario Kart 8 Papercraft

The popularity of Mario Kart video games has not diminished since the original game was introduced by Nintendo in 1992. This fan art paper model of Mario's Kart from MK8 was created by DeviantART member DUMDUMBOT. The Pepakura PDO template for the model may be downloaded from MediaFire. The finished model is large, measuring roughly 18" x 12" (46 cm x 30 cm). Sorry, there are no instructions for the model other than the PDO file. Mario Kart 8 introduced anti-gravity racing to the franchise.

Big Donkey Kong Papercraft

The first appearance of the Nintendo character, Donkey Kong, was in an eponymous 1981 arcade game. Since that time, Donkey Kong has appeared in numerous Nintendo video games, not to mention the 2023 Super Mario Bros. Movie. Standing at 29.7" (75 cm) tall this Donkey Kong paper model is large! The template download (found here) includes lots of files including an unlocked Pepakura PDO file and a Metasequoia 3D model file. Nintendo Samus Aran Papercraft

Samus Aran is the playable main character of the long-running series of Metroid video games by Nintendo. In 2009, Gollum999 created this Samus paper model for the now defunct Nintendo-Papercraft website. Fortunately, the papercraft template for the model is still available here! The download includes both PDF and Pepakura PDO templates as well as some written instructions. The first appearance of Samus Aran was in the original 1986 Metroid video game.

Papercraft Pokemon Cities

Pokecreation has created 3D papercraft dioramas based on 2D cities seen in the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl video game. Currently available in the collection are Snowpoint City, Sendgem Town, Jubilife City and Twinleaf Town. Each city includes a Pokemon Center and a Poke-Mart (of course!). The thing I like about these dioramas is that each element has it's own template. So, it is easy to print out, say one house or a boat, without printing out a lot of other stuff you don't want. The templates for these cities come in both PDF and Pepakura PDO format and may be downloaded here. Sorry, no instructions are available.

Nintendo Papercraft: Peach Castle

This papercraft of Princess Peach's castle is based on a model from the Super Mario Odyssey video game. In SMO, the castle's design is very similar to how it appears in other Nintendo video games. The model was designed by Emily Stell and may be downloaded here. The finished model is smaller than it may appear in the photo. For an idea of the size: the dimensions of the base are 9.8" (25 cm) by 6" (15 cm).

Printable Zelda Masks

These easy, printable, 2D Legend of Zelda masks are just the thing if you need a last minute mask for Halloween. There are five masks in all, each based on a different character from the Majora's Mask video game. The masks pictured are Zora, Fierce Deity Link, a Deku, and Majora's mask itself. Also available, but not pictured, is a Goron mask. PDFs of the masks may be download in a single ZIP file at the Nintendo website. Note: these are child-size and will need to be printed larger if adult use is intended.

In the Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker video game, the game's protagonist, Link, journeys to Dragon Roost Island where he meets a girl named Medli. Wherever she goes, Medli carries her treasured harp. This papercraft likeness of Medli does a good job at capturing the cartoonish style of the game. The model was designed by Tenpepakura and may be downloaded here. Zelda Papercraft: Wolf Link and Midna

In The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess video game, the protagonist Link takes on the form of a wolf and is imprisoned in Hyrule Castle. While in the castle he meets an imp-like creature named Midna who helps him escape. This really well done paper model depicts Midna riding on Wolf Link's back. PDF and Pepakura PDO files for the model may be downloaded here. Twilight Princess is the thirteenth in the ongoing series of Legend of Zelda games.

Nintendo Solid Snake Papercraft

This paper model is of the character Solid Snake as he appears in the 2008 Nintendo video game, Super Smash Brothers Brawl. If you are thinking, "Hey, Snake is not a Nintendo character!", you are correct. Snake is one of two "guest characters" that appear in the game, the other being Sonic the Hedgehog. Snake is a Konami character, while Sonic is a Sega character. This paper model was released by Nintendo Papercraft waaay back in 2008. A download of the template is still available here. Chibi Breath of the Wild Link Papercraft

Out of the papercraft that has been released for the new Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild video game, this Link model has to be my favorite.  Given the style of this papercraft, it might look like a model from the 2002 Wind Waker game, but it is actually a chibi version of how an adult Link appears in the newest game. A download of the template may be found here. Breath of the Wild was released in 2017.

Trojan Horse Paper Toy

In 2010 this cute Trojan horse paper toy was released as a promotional item to advertise the Nintendo DS video game, Glory of Heracles.  The cool thing about the toy is it has an actual secret compartment built into the side. Brian Castleforte, founder of Nice Paper Toys, is the designer of the piece. A PDF template for the horse is still available for download here.

Zelda Papercraft: Zora Armor Helmet

In the video game Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess the hero Link makes use of a special suit of armor that allows him to breathe under water. The armor is called "Zora Armor" due to the fact that it looks like the aquatic creatures called Zoras. This full size papercraft Zora Armor helmet was created by Studio of MM. The template (Pepakura PDO only) may be downloaded here.

Nintendo Papercraft: Bowser

A couple of years ago, two of the best papercrafters around (Brandon and Fezco) collaborated to create this Bowser paper model.  King Bowser Koopa is the primary antagonist in the Mario series of video games by Nintendo.  This particular version of Bowser is how he appears in Super Smash Bros. Zelda Origami: King of Red Lions Ship

Origami doesn't get much easier than this. Take two squares of paper, add a couple of folds and you have a great looking King of Red Lions ship. The King of Red Lions is a talking sailboat from the Nintendo video game The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. This origami was created by illustrator Alex Griendling. The pattern for the boat may be downloaded here.

Metroid Papercraft Jackpot

Matthew Green (the one who brought us life-size Samus Aran Armor) has started a Metroid papercraft site! Metriod Papercraft: Life-size Samus Aran Armor

I was impressed by this effort: a life-size paper model of Samus Aran's armor! Using a 3D model from Metroid Prime 2 video game, Flickr member IAmThatOneGuy built the 6'-10" (2.1 meters) tall model over the course of several months. Unfortunately, there is no download  for this one, but I had to share because of the "coolness" factor. ^^ More photos of the build may be seen here.

Star Fox Papercraft: Krystal

This voluptuous paper model is of Krystal, a lead female character in the Star Fox series of video games by Nintendo. According to the Star Fox wiki:

"Krystal is a female native fox of Cerinia, a planet outside the Lylat System. Krystal became proficient in using a powerful staff weapon, as well as her natural abilities of telepathy."

Papercraft Nintendo Princesses

In the Nintendo video game universe, Princess Peach and Princess Daisy are the best of friends. And while it has never been stated specifically in any video game, most Nintendo fans assume that Peach and Mario are a pair and that Daisy and Luigi are romantically involved as well.
