Goku and Kid Buu are characters in both the
Dragon Ball Z manga and the animated television series. In the manga, Kid Buu is the final villain encountered by the Dragon Ball heroes. These life size paper models of Goku and Buu were created by Paper Juke. The templates for the models may be downloaded
here and
here.
I'll print the Buu blank and them paint it mannualy just to see how it looks.
ReplyDeleteThat would hide the white edges of the paper.
DeleteHi, how do you harden the paper? Is it also hollow inside? thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe paper used is card stock so it is rigid enough not to require hardening. Yes, the models are hollow inside.
DeleteAre you still in business
DeleteYes. Why?
DeleteI keep getting dead links for Goku no matter where I go. Buu seems to still work though.
ReplyDeleteI updated the Goku link above with an alternate download location. Try again.

Deletehi :D
ReplyDeletei have 120-150 gsm cardstock
is it strong enough to hold it?
120-150 gsm most likely will work. If you want to be 100% sure, I would go with 150-200 gsm.
DeleteDo you need to resize the buu to be the size in the picture or is the file set to that size, its only 12 pages so i don't feel it could be the full size.
ReplyDeleteThe file is set for a model that is 15" (38 cm) tall. The model in the photo looks like it is at least twice that size. Since the author of the model locked the PDO it will be difficult to scale it up, but there are ways...
DeleteThanks so much for the reply, ill do some research and see if that guy released his scale anywhere online

Delete300gsm for goku , is it good ?
ReplyDeleteThat should work.
Deletewhat scale are used to make life-size models, by the way, awesome work
ReplyDeleteThere is no easy answer to your question. The scale varies according to the scale of the original 3D model used to create the papercraft.
DeleteHi good day ! How tall is the kid buu?
ReplyDelete130 cm
DeleteNeed to make a Majin vegeta one!
ReplyDeleteHello. Nice work you got there!! I was doing it and i found an part that i coudn't figure out how to bend it. Could you show me where i look to learn how to do that part?
ReplyDeleteOpen the PDO file and click on the part in question on the 2D layout. The part will be highlighted in the 3D layout which should give you an idea of how the part needs to be folded. Also, be sure to look at the PDO that has fold lines shown and not the "lineless" version.
Deletewhy the texture is so blur when i print it?
ReplyDeleteIt is blurry because the creator of the papercraft probably used a video game 3D model as the basis of his papercraft. Those video game textures were never intended to be enlarged to life size, so they are blurry. However, despite having blurry textures, the finished model still looks good, as seen in the photo above.
