Papercraft Treasure Chests With Gold Bricks

I love papercraft treasure chests! Especially when they come with golden treasure inside! These particular chests are just about the right size to be used as props for role playing games or miniature gaming. The larger chest is about 2" tall. The smaller is about 1" tall. The Pepakura PDO templates for everything you see may be downloaded here. Sadly, there are no instructions. Papercraft design by Ken.

Printable Minecraft Treasure Chest

In the Minecraft video game, the fastest way of finding buried treasure is to use a treasure map (of course!). The treasure is always contained in a chest. There are many types of items to be found in treasure chests including gold ingots, diamonds, iron swords, prismarine crystals and TNT. This large papercraft Minecraft chest was created by Steven Bear in 2014. The PDF template for the box may be downloaded here. This paper model is fairly easy to build, but if you need help, there is a video tutorial located here. Minecraft was first released in 2011.

KH2 Treasure Chest Papercraft

For old times sake, I have added one last chest to my Kingdom Hearts 2 papercraft treasure chest series. The last time I added to the series was in 2012! This is the thirteenth chest. This particular chest is a generic chest of sorts and appears in several different areas within the game. A download of the PDF template for the chest is available here.

Papercraft Mermaid Chair and Treasure Chest

This fanciful papercraft mermaid, chair and treasure chest were created by Phee McFaddell. The template for each is a color-it-yourself  PNG file which may either be printed and colored by hand or colored with a program like Adobe Photoshop. The chair and the treasure chest are what I would consider 2 1/2 D papercraft. The mermaid is more like a paper doll, although her tail is designed to be folded so that she may actually sit in the chair. The templates for all three items may be downloaded here.

KH2 Papercraft: Castle That Never Was Treasure Chest

For old times sake, I created another Kingdom Hearts II treasure chest paper model to add to the collection of eleven chests I released last year. Kingdom Hearts II Christmas Town Treasure Chest Papercraft

This is the last papercraft treasure chest I plan on doing for my Kingdom Hearts II treasure chest series. However, I might be talked into doing a couple more if there is enough interest. ;) In the KH2 video game, this treasure chest is found in the Christmas Town area which in a certain sense is a subset of the Halloween Town area. KH2 Olympus Treasure Chest Papercraft

Here's another treasure chest papercraft from Kingdom Hearts 2. This chest can be found in the Olympus Coliseum area of the video game. Olympus Coliseum is based on the 1997 animated Disney movie, Hercules. The template for this treasure chest is available here. Some of the previous treasure chests in the series include: Aladdin, Mulan, and Disney Castle.

KH2 Papercraft: Halloween Town Treasure Chest

Here is October's offering in my continuing series of papercraft treasure chests from the Kingdom Hearts 2 video game. It was obvious this month that I had to do the treasure chest from the Halloween Town area of the game! ^^ Halloween Town is based on the world of Tim Burton's movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas. KH2 Papercraft: Timeless River Treasure Chest

I have completed an eighth Kingdom Hearts II treasure chest papercraft. In the KH2 video game, this treasure chest can be found in the Timeless River area. Timeless River is world from the past modeled after Disney's 1928 black and white animated short, Steamboat Willie. The template for this treasure chest may be downloaded here.

KH2 Papercraft: Beast's Castle Treasure Chest

Here is treasure chest papercraft number seven in my ongoing series of Kingdom Hearts 2 treasure chests. This chest can be found in the Beast's Castle area of the the video game. The Beast's Castle area is based on the 1991 Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast. The treasure chest has a pattern of stained glass roses on the lid. KH2 Papercraft: Land of Dragons (Mulan) Treasure Chest

This month's offering in my ongoing Kingdom Hearts 2 treasure chest series is from the Land of Dragons area of the video game. Land of Dragons is based on the 1998 Disney movie, Mulan which tells the tale of a girl in ancient China who disguises herself as a boy in order to join the military. KH2 Papercraft: Disney Castle Treasure Chest

This papercraft treasure chest is based on a 3D model of a chest located in the Disney Castle area of the Kingdom Hearts 2 video game. My KH2 treasure chest offering for the month of June, this chest is the fifth to be released in my ongoing series. Unlike most of the other treasure chests, this chest has decorations on the inside. KH2 Papercraft: Port Royal Treasure Chest

This is my papercraft treasure chest offering for the month of May. It is the fourth chest in my ongoing series. As you may know, each area in the Kingdom Hearts 2 video game is based on a different Disney movie. This treasure chest is located in the Port Royal area of the game which is based on the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. Your ally in that area of the game is none other than Captain Jack Sparrow! The template for the Port Royal treasure chest may be downloaded here.

KH2 Papercraft: Space Paranoids Treasure Chest

Here is this month's Kingdom Hearts II treasure chest papercraft. This chest is from the Space Paranoids area of the game. Space Paranoids takes its name from a fictional video game created by the character Kevin Flynn in the 1982 movie Tron, and as such, the area in Kingdom Hearts has much the same look as the movie. The template for the treasure chest may be downloaded here. As an interesting side note, a fully functioning Space Paranoids game as seen in Tron may be played online at spaceparanoidsonline.com.

KH2 Papercraft: 100 Acre Wood Treasure Chest

Here is Chest #2 in my ongoing series of Kingdom Hearts 2 treasure chest paper models. My goal is to release one treasure chest a month with a final total of fourteen chests. This treasure chest appears in the 100 Acre Wood area of the video game. The 100 Acre Wood is, of course, where Winnie the Pooh and his companions live. The graphic style of Pooh and friends in the video game corresponds to Disney's version of the characters rather than the original book illustrations by E. H. Shepard. KH2 Aladdin Treasure Chest Papercraft

This is the first of numerous Kingdom Hearts 2 treasure chest paper models I hope to release over the course of the coming year. In the KH2 video game there are both large and small treasure chests to be found. This large treasure chest (which I call the "Aladdin treasure chest") can be found in the Agrabah area, a location taken from the Disney movie, Aladdin. The finished papercraft model of the treasure chest measures 3" L x 2.75" W x 3" H (7.6 cm x 7 cm x 7.6 cm). I found when I did my test build that the model was sturdy enough to maybe be used as a gift box (for something really small like a piece of jewelry). The image above is a 3D render to show the textures on the inside and outside of the chest. A download of the two page, six piece template is located here.

Viking Sea Chest Papercraft

This papercraft was created from archaeological drawings of the Hedeby sea chest, an actual Viking artifact. Created by Lodin, a member of the Fjellborg Viking Reenactor Society in Colorado, the paper model was originally put together as a design aid when he was in the process of building a life size functional wooden model of the chest.
