Gatchaman God Phoenix Papercraft

When I was young, I used to watch an animated American TV show called G-Force. Much later, I discovered G-Force was an adaptation of the 1972 Japanese anime series, Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. In the Gatchaman show, the G-Force team's aircraft is called the "God Phoenix." The Phoenix is capable of both spaceflight and under water travel. Also, when the need arises, the ship can also initiate "Firebird Mode" and turn into a massive flaming bird. This paper model of the God Phoenix was created by Studio Time Ring. Gatchaman Papercraft: Ken the Eagle

In the days of my youth, I remember watching G-Force: Guardians of Space.  The show was a American television version of the Japanese anime, Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. The five members of the Gatchaman team wear costumes that represent different types of birds: Ken the Eagle, Joe the Condor, Jun the Swan, Jinpei the Swallow, and Ryu the Owl. The papercraft pictured above is of Ken the Eagle. The template for this papercraft was created by Caio Paper Models in 2013 and may be downloaded from MediaFire. The download includes both PDF and Pepakura PDO templates. There are also two different size templates: 35cm tall and 50cm tall.

Poseable He-Man Papercraft

The He-Man and the Masters of the Universe animated television show was first broadcast in 1983. The protagonist of the show is Prince Adam, who by lifting his Power Sword in the air is transformed into the ultra-strong He-Man! This poseable papercraft He-Man was created by Titan Papercraft. The Pepakura PDO template for the figure may be downloaded here. Included in the download are an axe and a shield! In the 1987 live action Masters of the Universe movie, He-Man is played by Dolph Lundgren.

Country Church Paper Model

This country church is part of a collection of architecture paper models based on buildings seen in the Hallmark Channel series, When Calls the Heart. The series is set in 1910 in the fictional Canadian town of Hope Valley. The papercraft collection includes 18 different models including various mercantile buildings, a water tower, row houses, ground textures, and backdrops. Whether you are a fan of the show or not, I think these models would make a great Christmas village. Printable PDFs for each of the buildings may be downloaded here.

Mini ThunderCats Papercraft

The thing I like best about this collection of mini ThunderCats papercraft is the model of the ThunderCats' headquarters, the Cat's Lair. Most fittingly, the Cat's Lair is in the form of a panther sphinx. Included in the collection are seven of the ThunderCats team (including Snarf!). These paper toys are by designer Gus Santome. The templates of all the figures pictured come in a single PDF which may be downloaded here. In the television show, the Cat's Lair was designed by the character Tygra, who, in addition to being a warrior, is also an architect. Who knew?

Battlestar Galactica Papercraft Collection

The second Battlestar Galactica television series aired from 2004 to 2009. During its five year run, it featured all types of starships, aircraft, and land rovers. Over the years, fans of the show have produced paper models of many of these vehicles. The Steve's Paper website has gathered over 25 of these models in one place. Pictured are a few examples. Pokemon Papercraft: Bulbasaur

Who doesn't love the Pokémon known as Bulbasaur? Just too cute!  In 1996, the loveable pocket monster was introduced as one of three starter Pokémon in the first generation of Pokémon video games. In the Pokémon anime, Ash Ketchum's Bulbasaur made his first appearance in 1997. Second only to Pikachu, Bulbasaur has been on Ash's  team longer than any other Pokémon. This papercraft Bulbasaur was created by Ten Pepakura. The PDF template for the model may be downloaded here. In PokéDex dictionary, Bulbasaur is listed as monster #001!

After completing its fourth season earlier this year, the animated TV series Rick and Morty shows no signs of slowing in popularity and a fifth season is already in the works. In this papercraft fan art, grandfather Rick is seen in a typical pose attempting to calm his grandson Morty's apprehension at the next adventure they are about to begin. Little House on the Prairie Paper Models

The Little House on the Prairie television series aired from 1974 to 1983. The show was set in the late 1800's in the town of Walnut Grove, Minnesota. These delightful little models by PaperPrairie depict various Walnut Grove buildings as they appeared in the show. All the models are super simple, just the thing for those who are beginners at building paper models. Pictured in the photos are the Ingall's house, the Oleson's Mercantile, the Blind School building, the post office, and the Hanson Lumber Company building. Besides buildings, there various props like horse carts, ground textures, and backdrops. In all, there are currently 30 different printables available. Is that a Little House Christmas village I see on the horizon? ;)

Baby Yoda Papercraft

It seems everyone's favorite character on The Mandalorian TV show is "The Child" (or as fans are fond of calling him: "Baby Yoda"). Lots of fan art paper models of the little guy have begun to pop up. This model by Claudio Dias is one of the more realistic ones. The PDF template for the model may be downloaded here. Claudio doesn't list the size of the model, but it appears to be in the range of 6" to 8" tall, which would make it roughly a half-size (1:2 scale) model. The second season of The Mandalorian is set to be released on Disney+ in October 2020.

Mandalorian Razor Crest Papercraft

Hot off the press, here is a Star Wars paper model from the ever popular Disney+ show, The Mandalorian. This 1:250 scale model is of Razor Crest, the Mandalorian's own ship. The printable PDF template for the model was created by PRmodels and may be downloaded here. The Razor Crest is a former military patrol craft that was customized by the Mandalorian to meet his bounty hunting needs.

Baby Yoda Paper Toy

It seems everyone's favorite character on Disney's The Mandalorian is Baby Yoda. The lovable little imp is popping up all over Etsy, appearing in memes, and (as is to be expected) there are numerous paper models in circulation. Here is one of the better Baby Yoda papercrafts. It was created by Alex Gwynne at Fold Up Toys and may be downloaded here. As with most of Gwynne's creations, the template is a single piece that folds to form a 3D toy.

Papercraft Power Ranger Christmas Ornaments

Nickelodeon has printable Power Rangers for your Christmas tree! These papercraft ornaments were designed with children in mind and are easy to build. The bodies are 3D while the head, arms, and legs are 2D. Pictured are four of the five Rangers available (Black Ranger not shown). A PDF file with templates for all five Rangers may be downloaded here. I am no Power Ranger expert, but I think these ornaments are the incarnation of the Rangers that were on TV in 2016: Power Rangers Dino Super Charge (Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger in Japan).

ThunderCats Lion-O Papercraft

The ThunderCats animated series ran on American television in the late 1980s. The show followed the exploits of a group of cat-like extraterrestrials from the planet Thundera. The leader of the group was a noble named Lion-O. This paper model of Lion-O was created by Titan Papercraft. It has a several cool features. First, the model includes both the dagger version and the full size version of Lion-O's Sword of Omens. Second, the arms and hands are pose-able. And finally, it comes with the Gauntlet of Omens that may be hung from Lion-O's belt or placed on his hand. The Pepakura PDO template for the model may be downloaded here.

He-Man Paper Toys

The He-Man animated television series ran in the US from 1983 to 1985. I don't remember watching the cartoon, but I do remember the 1987 live action movie featuring Dolph Lundgren in the title role. Since the 80's the franchise has achieved cult status. Pictured are a selection of the seven He-Man paper toys offered by Folduptoys. From upper left going clockwise, there is Beast-Man, Mat-At-Arms, He-Man and Skeletor. Also available are Stratos, Trap Jaw and Zodac. All seven toys may be downloaded here. The He-Man franchise began as a collection of action figures produced by Mattel. The animated series featuring the characters was produced after the toy line became popular.

Game of Thrones Papercraft: Drogon

Drogon is one of three dragons cared for by Queen Daenerys Targaryen in the Game of Thrones television show. This paper model of Drogon depicts him as an adult, however the scale of the model is very close to the size of the dragon when he was newly hatched. The template for this papercraft was created by Cláudio Dias and may be downloaded here. Detailed instructions are included with the template. Queen Daenerys' other two dragons are named Rhaegal and Viserion.

Space 1999 Eagle Paper Model

In 2011 I posted an easy Space 1999 Eagle transporter paper model. Here is a slightly more detailed model of the same spacecraft by Papertoybox. One noticeable difference between the two models is the top of the newer Eagle model has an actual 3D triangulated frame rather than the boxed-in piece the 2011 model has. The PDF template for the transporter may be downloaded here. The designer has photo instructions available as well. The Space 1999 television show aired for two years from 1975 to 1977.

Papercraft V Reptilian Laser Pistol

The 1983 television mini-series "V" tells the story of the invasion of Earth by aliens. The aliens appear to be very human looking, but are later revealed to be reptilians who wear disguises to hide their true features. This full scale paper model of a reptilian laser pistol from the series was created by Marcell von dem Berge. A printable PDF template for the model may be downloaded here. Fun trivia: actor Robert Englund (who went on to play Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street) played one of the reptilians in V.

Star Trek Andorian Battle Cruiser Paper Model

This paper model of the starship Kumari was created by German designer, TarsFerak. The Kumari is an Andorian battle cruiser which appeared on the 2001 television series Star Trek: Enterprise. The blue skinned Andorians have a long history in the Star Trek franchise, first appearing in the original 1966 TV series in an episode entitled "Journey to Babel". The papercraft template for this model may be downloaded here. The scale of the model is 1:1700.

MLP Paper Toy: Discord

In the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic animated series there is a character known as "Discord". Discord is a male draconequus (literally "dragon horse") who at first antag-onizes the ponies, but later becomes their friend. This paper toy likeness of Discord was created by El Joey and may be downloaded here. Dicord is composed of several different mythical creatures.
