DIY 3D Trump Mask

DIY Trump Mask Bastelbogen
Happy Halloween! Here's a creepy mask for your trick or treating fun: Donald Trump! Andy Kong, who created the mask, says the mask is intended for both supporters and protestors of Trump. The printable template for the mask is only available in Pepakura PDO format and may be downloaded at the Pepakura Designer Gallery.  For a link to the free Pepakura Viewer software required for printing, see the FAQ page.

David Bowie Ziggy Stardust Paper Toy

As bizarre as this David Bowie paper toy may seem, it replicates an outfit Bowie wore in 1973 as part of his Ziggy Stardust persona. Bowie's Ziggy Stardust tour in the early 70's is considered by many to have been the creative force that propelled the artist to fame. This tribute paper toy was created by Vic Matos and may be downloaded here.

David Bowie Paper Toy Tribute

Many of us were saddened by the passing of musician David Bowie this week. As a tribute to Bowie, DeviantART member Scarykurt created a paper toy entitled "Love you Bowie". The toy is based on the cubee method of paper toy construction, so no glue is required. The JPG template for the toy is available for download here. Rest in peace Major Tom!

Michael Jackson Thriller Zombie Head Paper Toy

Who can forget Michael Jackson's zombie makeup from his Thriller music video? This paper toy of MJ's head was created by the author of the Toca do Caveira website using his blank "cranio freak" paper toy template. Both the blank skull template and the Thriller zombie head template may be downloaded here.

Pop Culture Paper Toy Tubes

Designer and animator Eduardo Souzacampus has created a delightful series of simple paper toys which he calls "Tubeland". Each of the toys is assembled by rolling a single piece of paper into a tube, then gluing it in place. Pictured above are the paper toys representing Darth Vader, Carmen Miranda, and Nintendo's Mario. A wide range of pop culture characters are available including historical figures (Da Vinci, Mozart, etc), cartoon characters (Betty Boop, Flintstones, etc), and soccer players (Pele, Ronaldo Fenomeno). One of my personal favs is the Heath Ledger Joker paper toy. All 24 of the Tubeland paper toys may be downloaded here.

Lady Gaga Just Dance Cubee

This cubee paper toy shows recording artist Lady Gaga in the costume she wore in the music video for the song Just Dance. Just Dance was the hit single that began Gaga's rise to stardom. This custom cubee is the work of 'Yamino at DeviantART. A download of the template is available here.

Kylie Minogue Paper Toys

Brazilian Bruno Vilardi is a self-professed Kylie Minogue addict. Bruno is so enamored with the Australian pop singer/actress that he has devoted an entire paper toy web site to nothing but dolls of Kylie. Each doll is dressed in a different costume from one of Minogue's numerous music videos and movies. Several dozen dolls have been created so far. My fave is the Kylie doll in the Green (Absinthe) Fairy costume she wore in a cameo appearance in the movie Moulin Rouge.

UPDATE 5/19/23: Sorry, these paper toys are no longer available. :(

Colonel Sanders Paper Toy

Of the two paper toys of KFC founder Colonel Sanders circulating on the Internet, this one is my favorite. I think maybe it's the bucket of fried chicken in the Colonel's hand in this one that wins me over. ^^ This paper toy was created by the folks at didactoteca.com and may be downloaded here by clicking on the photo of the template. For the curious, the other Colonel Sanders paper toy mentioned is one of the many paper toys offered at the toy-a-day blog which is located here.

Brad and Angelina 3D Papercraft Masks

These photo-realistic 3D paper masks of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are at the same time creepy and fascinating. The thought of people actually wearing these masks makes me a little uncomfortable. It reminds me of that scene in The Silence of the Lambs when Hannibal Lecter wears the skin of a guard's face in order to escape prison. :P These masks are two of eight free 3D mask samples offered by ThatsMyFace.com, a website which sells gifts with personalized faces. Other masks offered include Bruce Willis, David Letterman, and Daniel Craig. Download the mask templates by clicking on the photos near the bottom of the page here.

Alan Moore Paper Toys

Alan Moore is the UK comic book writer who brought us Watchmen, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and V for Vendetta. Despite his excellent writing abilities, I always thought Moore's looks were a little creepy. These paper toys turn up the creep factor a notch by adding glowing red eyes to the mix. Both these toys are available from Mustard comedy magazine as part of their paper toy series of celebrities who have appeared on the cover of the magazine. A download the PDF templates is here.

David Bowie Paper Mask

This printable paper mask depicts British singer David Bowie dressed as one of his many personas. This particular Bowie persona shares its name with his 1973 album, Aladdin Sane, the name being an intentional pun on "A lad insane". The mask is offered as a free download on the multimedia page of the David Bowie Wonderworld Fan Site. Other multimedia downloads on the page include ring tones and video games.

Hulk Hogan Paper Mask

This Hulk Hogan mask I came across was just too amusing not to mention. While it is not exactly 3D papercraft, it is made to be printed on your home computer and cut out. This painterly mask is a promotional "toy" for Hogan's celebrity wrestling show and is available on the CMT cable network website here. And as you don your new mask, little Hulkamaniacs, remember what the Hulkster said: "say your prayers, take your vitamins and you will never go wrong!"
