Crisis Core FFVII Shinra Helicopter Papercraft

Back in 2009, Kaizo was a very prolific papercraft creator. His favorite subjects were characters and objects from Final Fantasy video games. This Shinra helicopter was one of his creations based on a 3D model from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. The three page template for this model is still available on MediaFire. Along with PDF and PDO templates, the download includes photo instructions. In the Final Fantasy VII universe, Shinra is an oppressive megacorporation that dominates the world.

FFIX Zidane Sword Papercraft

Last fall, as a favor for a friend, I created a papercraft template for Zidane's sword from the Final Fantasy IX video game. To be accurate, Zidane has not one sword, but two identical swords that may be connected together at the hilt. Anyhow, the unlocked Pepakura PDO template for the sword may be downloaded from MediaFire. The 3D model that the template was created from did not lend itself well to translation into papercraft, so there are some fussy little pieces that will frustrate all but the most seasoned papercrafter. Also, I did not attempt to unfold the tassel on the hilt. The pieces for it were tossed to one side of the main template layout so that they would not print. If anyone successfully builds this, send me a photo to the email address on my profile and I will post it!

Final Fantasy XI Chocobo Papercraft

I have been playing the Final Fantasy Tactics app lately and it has made me nostalgic for the Final Fantasy papercraft people used to create 8 or 9 years ago. One of the nicest FF paper models from that time period was this chocobo from Final Fantasy XI by Kaizo Papercraft. The Pepakura PDO file is still available here. Kaizo never "officially" released this papercraft so the template is really rough and could use some editing, but as you can see, if you put some effort into it, the end result is awesome. By the way, the cat on the chocobo's back is an unrelated FFVII papercraft.

FF Dissidia Papercraft: Paladin Cecil Harvey

Back in the day, no one released more Final Fantasy papercraft than Kaizo. But alas, six years ago he gave up the hobby and moved on to other pursuits. Fortunate for those of us still building papercraft, most of his paper models are still available. Pictured is Kaizo's paper model of Cecil Harvey as he appears when wearing his paladin costume in the Final Fantasy: Dissidia video game. PDF files, a Pepakura PDO file, and photo instructions for building Cecil may all be downloaded here.

Chibi FFVII Sephiroth Papercraft

Sephiroth, a popular antagonist in the Final Fantasy extended universe, is immediately recognizable by the seven foot long kantana blade he wields. This chibi paper model of Sephiroth was created by Paper Juke. A Pepakura PDO template for the model may be downloaded here. Sephiroth's first appearance was in the 1997 Final Fantasy VII video game. Cute Final Fantasy Chocobo Papercraft

There are several different free papercraft chocobos available on the Internet, but this one is undoubtedly one of the cutest. :) This papercraft was based on a 3D model from the Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon video game by Square Enix. The papercaft template for the model was created by DeviantART member Pastel-Leaf and may be downloaded here. Since Final Fantasy II, chocobos have appeared in nearly every Final Fantasy video game.

Final Fantasy XI Puppetmaster Papercraft

In the Final Fantasy XI video game puppetmasters are wandering performers who entertain crowds and confound their enemies with a customizable puppet known as an "Automaton." This papercraft puppetmaster was created by Telford at the Square Enix Forum. The finished model stands 13.8" (35 cm) tall. As a plus, the mask and hat are removable. Kingdom Hearts Sephiroth Papercraft

The Final Fantasy video game character Sephiroth first appeared in Final Fantasy VII. Since his first appearance, Sephiroth has been featured in several other video games, among them Kingdom Hearts and Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy. This paper model of Sephiroth wearing his KH costume is based on a 3D model from Dissidia 012.

Final Fantasy Moogle Papercraft

This is one of my favorite Final Fantasy paper models by two of my favorite papercrafters. This build photo of a papercraft moogle is by Lyrin-83, while the papercraft template is by Kaizo (who sadly no longer does papercraft). Moogles first appeared in Final Fantasy III and have shown up in nearly every Final Fantasy video game since. This particular moogle is from Final Fantasy XI. Kaizo released the template for the moogle in 2009 and it is still available on his inactive papercraft blog.

Kingdom Hearts Papercraft: Cid Highwind's Goggles

I finally got around to finishing another Kingdom Hearts papercraft. This is a 1:1 scale paper model of Cid Highwind's goggles as they appear in the Kingdom Hearts II video game. Cid Highwind first appeared as a character in Final Fantasy VII. After FFVII, Cid appeared in several more video games, including both Kingdom Hearts I and II. Although his appearance differs from game to game, one constant of his costume is a pair of goggles perched on his forehead. As the template for the goggles consists of only one page of five parts, I give this papercraft a difficulty level of a mere 1 on a scale of 5. A download of the template is available here.

Kingdom Hearts Papercraft: Yuffie's Shuriken

I took a break from some of the more complicated papercraft projects I have in progress and put together this simple papercraft based on a 3D model from the Kingdom Hearts 1 video game. The character Yuffie first appeared as a secret character in the Final Fantasy VII video game. In Kingdom Hearts, one notable difference in Yuffie's appearance compared to her FFVII appearance is that her shuriken weapon is much smaller. For this papercraft version of her KH shuriken I tried to make the finished size as close as possible to how it appears in the video game. The template info is as follows:

Final Fantasy X-2 Papercraft Coins

Inside the Final Fantasy X-2 video game there is a mini game called "Sphere Break". Sphere Break is a Sudoku-like, math based game that uses coins as part of the game play. There are 64 different coins used in the game, each of which has a different picture of a Final Fantasy character. Pictured above is a sampling of some of the coins. On the front row, from left to right, is a Cactaur coin, a Tidus coin, and a Chocobo coin. The second row shows the typical pattern on the back face of each of the coins. Papercrafter's Haven has created papercraft versions of all 64 coins which are available here. Each of the papercraft coins measures appoximately 1 1/2" (38 mm) across and are about 1/8" (3 mm) thick.

UPDATE 7/2/2019: The Papercrafter's Haven website (along with the 64 coins) is long gone. However, I was able to salvage templates for the three coins pictured above. The link above now points to a PDF download for the three coins rather than pointing to the original website. Better than nothing I suppose...
