Borderlands 2 Papercraft: Hyperion Soldier Helmet

This 3D papercraft helmet is that of a Hyperion soldier as seen in the Borderlands 2 video game. The game has a cartoonish, hand drawn look and this papercraft duplicates that look nicely. Hyperion soldiers are minions of the Hyperion Corporation, the antagonist organization in the game. The template for this life-size wearable papercraft is available in Pepakura PDO format only. The template is available for download here. Borderlands 2 was released in 2012.

Papercraft Samurai Helmets

This collection of life size papercraft samurai helmets was based on historic helmets held in museums in Japan. The artist who designed the helmets is Kimura Yoshitaka. PDF templates for the helmets may be found here. If you don't know Japanese, it may take you a while to figure out which links to click. ^^ The era of the samurai lasted from the 12th century until the 1860's.

Origami Crown

I thought this origami crown was a great idea. It is a simple, glue-less way to make royal headgear for those play times when your child wants to play-act being a prince or princess. The size of the finished crown depends on the size of the square of paper used. A 26" x 26" (67 cm x 67 cm) square of paper produces a crown with a diameter of 7.87" (20 cm). Star Wars Papercraft: Captain Phasma Helmet

Captain Phasma is one of my favorite characters in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, so I was happy to find this paper model of her helmet. The model comes in two sizes: life size and a scaled down version. The PDF templates for the helmet may be downloaded here. Captain Phasma is played by actress Gwendoline Christie who also stars in HBO's Game of Thrones as Brienne of Tarth.

Star Wars Papercraft: Kylo Ren Helmet

From the designer that brought us a First Order stormtrooper helmet, here is a paper model of the helmet of Kylo Ren, the villain of Star Wars: Episode VII. As with the stormtrooper helmet, the model comes in both a full size (wearable) version and a scaled down version. The PDF templates for the helmets may be downloaded here. Unlike Darth Vader whose face is not revealed until the third movie, Kylo Ren removes his helmet in the first movie in which he makes an appearance! How times have changed. ^^

WoW Papercraft: Vrykul Helm

According to the World of Warcraft Wiki the Vrykul are:

"a race of Norse-themed half-giant warriors native to the Howling Fjord, located in southeastern Northrend... Vrykul are brutal in nature, and are served by worgs and a similarly mysterious race of proto-dragons. They practice a runic magic that even the most experienced wizards find unfamiliar."

Skyrim Steel Plate Helmet Papercraft

It has been a while since I posted any paper models based on the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim video game. This life-size Steel Plate helmet papercraft was created by DeviantART member Kurado3. According to one Skyrim Wiki: "Steel plate armor is a medium-quality heavy armor that is better than Dwarven but not as good as Orcish." Papercraft Episode VII Stormtrooper Helmet

It always amazes me how fast papercraft fan art gets posted on the Internet! With only two teaser trailers out for reference, here already is a paper model of the new style stormtrooper helmet from Star Wars Episode VII. There two sizes of the helmet available: a full scale version and a smaller version appropriate for a desktop display. The templates may be downloaded here and here. Episode VII: The Force Awakes is scheduled to open in theaters in December 2015.

Simple Papercraft Samurai Helmet

Entitled "The Samurai Spirits", this papercraft kabuto by Takashi Okada is designed to look as if it were folded out of a page from an old newspaper. At only fifteen parts, the helmet is an easy build. The PDF template for the model may be downloaded here. The red stand and the name plate shown in the photo are included.

Power Rangers Papercraft: Violet Wolf Ranger Helmet

In 2008, the sixteenth season of the Power Rangers television show aired in the US. The theme of the season was "Power Rangers Jungle Fury" and each of the Ranger's costumes had an animal theme. Papercraft Doctor Doom Helmet

Doctor Doom is one of the most powerful super-villains in the Marvel Comics universe. Doom wears armor that was magically forged at a secret monastery in Tibet. This papercraft Doctor Doom helmet is the work of  Lord Magneto, a RPF member who wanted to do a Doom cosplay for Comicon. The Pepakura PDO template for the helmet may be downloaded here.

Doctor Who Cyberman Helmet Papercraft

In the history of the Doctor Who television show there have been two types of Cybermen. In the original series, Cybermen are cyborgs from the planet Mondas. In the reboot of the series, Cybermen are robotic entities manufactured on an alternate universe Earth by Cybus Industries. This papercraft Cyberman helmet is that of the second type of Cyberman. Zelda Papercraft: Zora Armor Helmet

In the video game Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess the hero Link makes use of a special suit of armor that allows him to breathe under water. The armor is called "Zora Armor" due to the fact that it looks like the aquatic creatures called Zoras. This full size papercraft Zora Armor helmet was created by Studio of MM. The template (Pepakura PDO only) may be downloaded here.

Skyrim Papercraft: Ancient Nord Helmet

Here's another great papercraft Skyrim helmet from Kuraudo3. This helmet is the Ancient Nord Helmet which is a piece of heavy armor similar to the Iron Helmet. Skyrim Papercraft: Dragonscale Helmet

The Dragonscale Helmet is one of the light armor pieces that can be made utilizing the dragon armor perk in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim video game. Dragonscale is the strongest light armor in the game. This full scale paper model of the helmet was created by Kuraudo3. A Pepakura PDO file for it may be requested from Kuraudo3 by contacting him here. For those of you with Mac computers who cannot open PDO files, I have created a PDF file of the template which may be downloaded here.

Skyrim Papercraft: Helm of Yngol

I neglected posting this excellent Skyrim papercraft when it was released by Brandon (z8-0) back in December, but it came to my attention again when I saw this awesome build photo by Kurado3. This full scale paper model helmet is based on a 3D model from the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim video game. In the game the helmet is found on the remains of the Nede warrior Yngol in the barrow where he is buried. Papercraft LOTR Dwarf Helmet

Here's another nice Lord of the Rings Papercraft from Movieman. This helmet is very similar to the one worn by Gimli the Dwarf in the LOTR movies. The template is available in Pepakura PDO format only and may be downloaded here. The PDO is unlocked, so the size of the helmet may be customized. Lord of the Rings Papercraft: Elf Helmet

There seems to be an abundance of Fantasy themed paper model helmets around these days. Here is another one to add to the tally. This LOTR Elf helmet by Movieman has a unique open design. From its looks, I assume that this papercraft is based on a 3D model from one of the many of the Lord of the Rings video games. The Pepakura PDO template for the helmet may be downloaded here.

Skyrim Papercraft: Stormcloak Helmet

Here is yet another papercraft helmet from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim video game. This time it is one of the several helmets that may accompany Stormcloak armor. In the storyline of the game, Stormcloaks are a faction that opposes the Imperial Legion. The template for this full scale paper model was created by Rundown and may be downloaded here. Skyrim Papercraft: Daedric Armor Helmet

Finally, another Skyrim papercraft! This full size paper model is of a Daedric armor helmet. In the video game, Daedric armor has the highest base armor rating. The Pepakura PDO template for this papercraft was put together as a freebie by the guys at Propzone and may be downloaded here.
