Mini SNES Papercraft

I have always been a sucker for miniature papercraft. This mini papercraft of the old Super Nintendo Entertainment System is one example. Created by DeviantART member Ryo007 in 2008, this paper model has some lengths of old wired earbud cable added for greater realism. The single page JPG template for the model may be downloaded from Ryo007's DeviantART page. The SNES was released in the US in 1991.

Tron Ares Identity Disc Papercraft

I have posted my own papercraft designs for every Tron movie to date, so you know I had to release something for the new Tron: Ares movie. ;) Here is my offering: an 1:1 scale identity disc model. Unlike the identity discs in the previous Tron movies, the Ares disc is triangular rather than circular. The printable papercraft template for this model may be downloaded from MediaFire. Star Trek Tricorder Papercraft

Way back in 2012, I released a life sized Star Trek medical tricorder papercraft (see original blog post here). Recently, I came across a very similar tricorder model which I hadn't seen before. It was released by the MMORPG, Star Trek Online, around 2016. A copy of the single page JPG template for the model is still available on Reddit.

Comparing the two models, the advantage of the STO model is it is designed with interior supports which make the model stronger if used for cosplay. The advantage of my model is that it comes with a handheld scanner in addition to the tricorder.

Harry Potter Flying Key Papercraft

In the movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry and his pals must capture a flying key to unlock a door. The problem is, there is a roomful of winged keys whizzing about and only one of them works on the door! This paper model depicts how the keys appear in the 2001 PC video game released in conjunction with the movie. In the game, the keys are gold when they are calm, but if "angered", they turn red. The PDF templates for both types of keys may be downloaded here. The finished keys are 4" (10 cm) long.

I don't release my own paper model designs as often as I once did. In fact, this is my first release since 2020! I hinted in 2018 I might release this particular papercraft.  Finally, today have I been able to follow through.

12th Anniversary!

Today is the 12th anniversary of Tektonten Papercraft! As is my custom on this day, I am taking a moment to look back on some of the papercraft I have created since starting the hobby in 2008. This year, I am remembering my 1:1 scale paper models of Star Wars devices. Pictured are electrobinoculars, a Clone Wars Jedi holocron, a Versafunction88 datapad, and a training remote. Guyver Unit Papercraft

In the Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor anime, items called "G-units" are activated to become organic suits of armor containing powerful weapons. I created this 1:2 scale paper model of an un-activated G-unit as a favor for a Guyver fan I know. The texture for the model is based on art by DeviantART member, Cosedimarco. PDF templates along with a Pepakura PDO file for the model may be downloaded here. The completed model measures 7.5" (19 cm) in diameter.

MCU Infinity Gauntlet Papercraft

I've been on the lookout for a well designed Infinity Gauntlet paper model that is also free. I think I may have finally found what I have been looking for! This 1:1 scale model of Thanos' glove was created by Paperttore at LED Papercraft. The model represents how the Gauntlet appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe rather than how it appears in the original comic books. The download (which may be found here) contains both PDF and Pepakura PDO templates. In case you have been living under a rock... :) The Infinity Gauntlet plays an important role in both the Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame movies.

Fallout 3 Bottlecap Mine Papercraft

In the Fallout 3 video game, players can create an explosive device from found objects which include a lunchbox and bottle caps. This full size paper model of the so-called "bottlecap mine" was crafted with meticulous care by Broken Papercrafts. The illusion of the papercraft mine being real is enhanced by coloring the edges of the card stock and the addition of some bits of wire here and there. Faux Rolex Watch Papercraft

I am not entirely sure why someone would want to design a paper model of a faux Rolex watch, but then again who am I to talk? ;) The template for this model has no color, so to achieve the effect seen in the photo it must be printed on gold colored card stock. Star Wars Papercraft: Versafunction88 Datapad

I am happy to be able to release another model in my collection of Star Wars papercraft!  This paper model is a 1:1 scale Versafunction88 datapad. The Versafunction88 has made appearances in numerous Star Wars properties, everything from the Episode 1 movie to the Tiny Death Star video game. This papercraft is based on a 3D model from the Jedi Academy video game.The download (located here) includes a locked Pepakura PDO file for reference, along with lined and unlined PDF templates in both A4 and Letter sizes.

Kamen Rider Sengoku Driver Belt Papercraft

In the Kamen Rider Gaim television series, characters use a belt called a Sengoku Driver to transform into Armored Riders. Once in their armored state, the Riders are equipped to battle the inter-dimensional monsters that threaten their city. This faithful papercraft reproduction of a Sengoku Driver was created by DeviantART member Nandablank. The finished model features several movable parts. Rachet and Clank OmniWrench 12000 Papercraft

The OmniWrench 12000 is one of the more powerful weapons in the Rachet & Clank series of video games. As an added bonus, in the game an OmniWrench may used to repair items as well as attack enemies. This paper model of the OmniWrench 12000 was created by DeviantART member Mickey103.

Star Wars Comlink Papercraft

Due to my busy schedule this year, I have not been able to release very many of my papercraft works in progress. In the interest of getting some things completed, I decided to focus on a couple of my smaller projects. Here is the first one to be finished.  This paper model is of a comlink as it appears in the video game Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. In the Star Wars universe, comlinks are small communication devices that are used like walkie-talkies. In Star Wars: A New Hope, Luke Skywalker and C-3PO use similar comlinks to communicate when they are on the Death Star. This papercraft is 1:1 scale. Deep Space Nine Papercraft: PADD

Back in September I revamped the Star Trek: Voyager medical tricorder paper model I released in 2009. Next up on the revamp list is my 2009 PADD papercraft. The original PADD was based on a 3D model from the Star Trek Voyager Elite Force video game. However, after doing some research, I found that the PADD was configured more like a Deep Space Nine PADD than a Voyager PADD. So accordingly I changed the textures to show a DS9 readout. The new template is available here (both A4 and Letter size included). Like the original PADD, the scale of the model is 1:2.

John Carter Papercraft: Barsoom Decoder

The good folks at Cubeecraft have created a 2D papecraft decoder to translate the Barsoomian lettering used in Disney's John Carter movie and related merchandise. Dial in the Martian letter at the top and the English letter it represents appears in the window at the bottom. The decoder is modeled after the Thern teleportation medallion seen in the movie. Star Trek Voyager Medical Tricorder Papercraft - Version 2

A few years ago I released several Star  Trek paper models based on 3D models from the Star Trek Voyager Elite Force video game. One of these papercraft models was a Voyager type medical tricorder and scanner. I was always unhappy with the grossly pixelated textures on the model, but I could never find the time to improve them... until now. The template for the new and improved version of the tricorder may be downloaded here. The new textures aren't perfect, but they are (dare I say it?) light years beyond the old textures. ;)

Star Wars Training Remote Papercraft

I keep telling myself I ought to create more Star Wars papercraft, but until now I have completed only two (Clone Wars Holocron and Electrobinoculars). So I am happy to announce I have finally completed a third Star Wars model to add to the collection: a 1:1 scale training remote. A training remote was used by Luke Skywalker in the very first Star Wars movie when he was being trained by Obi-Wan Kenobi to use a lightsaber. This particular remote model is based on a 3D model from the Star Wars: Jedi Academy video game. The papercraft template for the model may be downloaded here.

Conduit 2 Portal Papercraft

Conduit 2 is a Wii first person shooter game released by Sega in 2011. Characters in the game make use of Stargate-like portals to teleport from one location to another. This portal papercraft is an official release from High Voltage Software, the creator of the game. The template for the portal may be downloaded here.

Skyrim Papercraft: Runed Lexicon Cube

After doing a papercraft Dwemer puzzle cube, I couldn't resist making another cube from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim video game. This time it's a runed lexicon cube. This papercraft is the appearance the lexicon takes after being inscribed with an elder scroll's knowledge in the "Discerning the Transmundane" quest. Digimon Papercraft: Marcus Damon's Digivice

The fifth series in the Digimon television franchise is Digimon Data Squad (in Japan: "Digimon Savers"). The lead character of the series, Marcus Damon (in Japan: Diamon Masaru), makes use of a device known as a Data Link Digivice (in Japan: "Digivice iC"). The device allows digimon monsters to "digivolve" into more powerful versions of themselves. This 1:1 scale paper model of Damon's digivice (my first release of 2012!) was based on a 3D model from the Digimon Masters MMORPG.  The lined and unlined PDF templates may be downloaded here.
