Miniature Papercraft Vintage Cereal Boxes

Here's some fun miniature papercraft cereal boxes to build! These boxes are of General Mills' "Monster Cereals". You may have seen Count Chocula and Franken Berry, as they are still on grocery store shelves today. But how about the less common cereals in the line like Boo Berry, Fruit Brute, and Yummy Mummy? Printable Minecraft Treasure Chest

In the Minecraft video game, the fastest way of finding buried treasure is to use a treasure map (of course!). The treasure is always contained in a chest. There are many types of items to be found in treasure chests including gold ingots, diamonds, iron swords, prismarine crystals and TNT. This large papercraft Minecraft chest was created by Steven Bear in 2014. The PDF template for the box may be downloaded here. This paper model is fairly easy to build, but if you need help, there is a video tutorial located here. Minecraft was first released in 2011.

Valentines Papercraft: Heart Box of Roses

Valentines Day is soon upon us! Need a gift? If you have decent papercrafting skills you might want to give this project a try. Despite how it looks, this box of roses is not origami, but papercraft. Each of the rose blossoms is built from thin cardstock that is folded, cut, curled, then glued in place with gluing tabs. These DIY Marvel superhero treat boxes would be a hit at a child's birthday party for sure, but they would work great for most any holiday or celebration with Marvel Comics fans in attendance. Retro Papercraft Pumpkin Treat Box

Printable Santa Gift Boxes

I like the flexibility of these papercraft Santa boxes. They may be used as small gift boxes or table top decorations. String some together through the tips of their hats and they become a Christmas banner. Make use of the included number signs and you can create an Advent calendar to count down the days till Christmas (with a candy treat inside each one of course ^^). Harry Potter Papercraft: Peppermint Toad Box

In the world of Harry Potter, a peppermint toad is a magical candy shaped like a toad. After consuming one of the toads it realistically hops in the stomach. The treat is mentioned in A Prisoner of Azkaban as being sold in the Honeydukes sweet shop in the wizarding village of Hogsmeade. My favorite part of the design is the box's underside which has an ingenious pattern created by the construction of the box itself. Mr. T Cereal Box Papercraft

Although the actor Mr. T has been reduced these days to doing television commercials for World of Warcraft, back in 1984 he was popular enough to have his own brand of breakfast cereal. As if that wasn't an odd enough twist of pop culture in and of itself, the cereal also went on to be immortalized on film by none other than Pee Wee Herman in the 1985 movie Pee Wee's Big Adventure...

When I came across a scan of a Mr. T cereal box in Jason Liebig's wonderful collection of retro product packaging photos on Flickr, I couldn't resist creating a miniature papercraft version of it. So I asked, and Mr. Liebig graciously granted me permission to use his scan for my project. The template for the cereal box papercraft includes two sizes, one at 1:3 scale and the other at 1:6 scale (just the size for Barbie dolls). The one page template may be downloaded here. And just in case you were wondering, the cereal is rumored to have tasted a lot like Cap'n Crunch. ;)

Candy Corn Gift Box Papercraft

Halloween is past, but since it is still candy corn season I couldn't pass up posting this cute papercraft. :) This is a glue-less gift box that is held together only by a ribbon at the top. I think it would be cool to put some real candy corn inside some of these boxes and give them away on Thanksgiving Day tomorrow (Happy Thanksgiving! BTW). This candy corn box was created by deviatART user "Soupcomplex". The template is located here.

Viking Sea Chest Papercraft

This papercraft was created from archaeological drawings of the Hedeby sea chest, an actual Viking artifact. Created by Lodin, a member of the Fjellborg Viking Reenactor Society in Colorado, the paper model was originally put together as a design aid when he was in the process of building a life size functional wooden model of the chest.
