15th Anniversary!

Earlier this month (the 5th to be exact) was the 15th anniversary of my first blog post on Tektonten Papercraft! Fifteen years is pretty ancient when it comes to papercraft blogs. Most of the big papercraft blogs I followed when I first started are now dead. May they rest in peace. ;) I will keep my little blog going until I no longer find any enjoyment in it, and that is not likely to happen any time soon. :) Thanks to everyone who visits and even greater thanks to those who make return visits. You are appreciated.

Pictured are a few of the dozens (or is it hundreds?) of unfinished paper models I have on my hard drive. Who knows? I may yet release some of these... I will leave it to you to identify what these are.

10th Anniversary!!

On this date in 2008 I wrote my first blog post for Tektonten Papercraft! Since that day, the blog has received over 10.4 million page views. Here's special thanks to every visitor who contributed to reaching that number, especially those of you who drop by on a regular basis!

To celebrate this momentous occasion, I plan on releasing one new paper model every month for the next twelve months. The last time I released one of my own papercraft designs was 2015, so this will be a big undertaking for me. Fortunately, I have dozens of half-finished templates sitting on my hard drive just waiting to be completed. :) Pictured are some possibilities of  what might be released. From upper left going clockwise we have: A flying key from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Star Lord's gun from Guardians of the Galaxy, an airspeeder from the Star Wars universe, and finally, a simple rustic cottage. If you are lucky, I may even get around to finishing those two skulls I promised in 2013 but never delivered. ;) Here's to happy papercrafting in the coming year!

5th Anniversary!

Due to dealing with a flooded basement, I missed mentioning that November 5th was the fifth anniversary of Tektonten Papercraft! Thanks for everyone’s continued support! This has not been my most productive year for papercraft, but I hope to get back in the swing of things in the next twelve months. One thing I want to do is to add more papercraft skulls to my video game skull series. Pictured are some of my “work in progress” skulls. From upper left going clockwise are skulls from Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Alien versus Predator, Halo 1, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Tron Papercraft WIP: Lightcyclist Bust

I don't usually do "work in progress" posts, but I will probably start doing more in the future. I have been working on several elaborate projects that will take longer to release and I wanted to give a taste of some of them in advance. This Lightcyclist Bust is about 30% of the way through the test build. Once again the original model is from the Tron 2.0 video game. I decided to build a life size bust because the level of detail in the face made it difficult to do a smaller scale complete figure. As the project stands now, it looks like the template will have about 29 pages. Wish me luck!
