17th Anniversary!

Today marks the 17th Anniversary of Tektonten Papercraft! To commemorate the day this year, I am featuring some of the Harry Potter papercraft I have done in previous years. Pictured left to right are:

16th Anniversay!

Today is the 16th anniversary of Tektonten Papercraft! As is my custom, on this day I post either a papercraft I have built in the past or new papercraft I may release in the future. This year, I am posting a photo of a past build.

This papercraft is of the Statue of Zeus at Olympia, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. This papercraft was designed by the great Richard Vyškovský as part of a commercial paper model of the Temple of Zeus at Olympia. I didn't want to build the entire temple, so I scanned just the parts of the template with the statue and enlarged them. The original statue was about 1" tall. The enlarged statue I built is 5" tall.

15th Anniversary!

Earlier this month (the 5th to be exact) was the 15th anniversary of my first blog post on Tektonten Papercraft! Fifteen years is pretty ancient when it comes to papercraft blogs. Most of the big papercraft blogs I followed when I first started are now dead. May they rest in peace. ;) I will keep my little blog going until I no longer find any enjoyment in it, and that is not likely to happen any time soon. :) Thanks to everyone who visits and even greater thanks to those who make return visits. You are appreciated.

Pictured are a few of the dozens (or is it hundreds?) of unfinished paper models I have on my hard drive. Who knows? I may yet release some of these... I will leave it to you to identify what these are.

14th Anniversary!

November 5th was the 14th anniversary of Tektonten Papercraft! As Smashmouth said once in a song: "Well, the years start coming and they don't stop coming". Fourteen years seems like a long time to blog about papercraft, but I have loved every minute of it. The creativity of those who design paper models never ceases to amaze me! Thanks so much to everyone who has visited Tektonten in the last fourteen years! Pictured above is a pile of papercraft at my house. Most of these models have been featured on my blog at one time or the other.

13th Anniversary!

Yesterday was the 13th anniversary of the Tektonten Papercraft blog! This year I am sharing a paper model I designed in 2008, the year Tektonten Papercraft began. This is a scale model of the so called "Tower of the Winds" in Athens. I never released the template for this model primarily because as a newbie I didn't know what I was doing at the time and the template is not in a format that is easily shareable! In the future, I hope to rework the the template so I can offer it for sale on Etsy. Thank you to those who have continued to visit my blog all these many years! Also, much thanks to new visitors! Everyone's support is greatly appreciated!

12th Anniversary!

Today is the 12th anniversary of Tektonten Papercraft! As is my custom on this day, I am taking a moment to look back on some of the papercraft I have created since starting the hobby in 2008. This year, I am remembering my 1:1 scale paper models of Star Wars devices. Pictured are electrobinoculars, a Clone Wars Jedi holocron, a Versafunction88 datapad, and a training remote. 11th Anniversary!

Today is the 11th anniversary of Tektonten Papercraft! In the photo are all the pizza paper toys I have released to date. The oldest is the McDonald's pizza which I posted in February 2009! The newest (Freddy Fazbear's pizza) was posted just yesterday. The original posts for each pizza may be found here. If you are visiting Tektonten for the first time, please be aware that I do more types of paper models than just pizza. :) For those of you who are returning: Thank you! You are the reason I keep doing what I am doing and I am grateful for your support.

10th Anniversary!!

On this date in 2008 I wrote my first blog post for Tektonten Papercraft! Since that day, the blog has received over 10.4 million page views. Here's special thanks to every visitor who contributed to reaching that number, especially those of you who drop by on a regular basis!

To celebrate this momentous occasion, I plan on releasing one new paper model every month for the next twelve months. The last time I released one of my own papercraft designs was 2015, so this will be a big undertaking for me. Fortunately, I have dozens of half-finished templates sitting on my hard drive just waiting to be completed. :) Pictured are some possibilities of  what might be released. From upper left going clockwise we have: A flying key from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Star Lord's gun from Guardians of the Galaxy, an airspeeder from the Star Wars universe, and finally, a simple rustic cottage. If you are lucky, I may even get around to finishing those two skulls I promised in 2013 but never delivered. ;) Here's to happy papercrafting in the coming year!

8th Anniversary!

Today marks the eighth anniversary of Tektonten Papercraft! It has been my practice on anniversary day to take a look back at my papercraft designs from bygone years. With the release yesterday of the Doctor Strange movie, the choice of which paper model to feature this year seemed obvious. This model of Doctor Strange's Eye of Agamotto was originally released 7 1/2 years ago. It is one of my first papercraft designs! The original post with a download of the template may be found here. 7th Anniversary!

Remember, remember the fifth of November... is the anniversary of Tektonten Papercraft! Yes, seven years ago today I began blogging about the wonderful world of papercraft. Today's photo features four of my pop culture paper models from years gone by. Each one has something to do with an eye. Starting on the left and going clockwise there is the Millennium Eye from Yu-Gi-Oh (2011), the masonic medallion (with Eye of Providence) from National Treasure (2009), the Eye of Agamotto from the Marvel comic book Doctor Strange (2009), and lastly there is the seeing stone from Coraline (2009). 5th Anniversary!

Due to dealing with a flooded basement, I missed mentioning that November 5th was the fifth anniversary of Tektonten Papercraft! Thanks for everyone’s continued support! This has not been my most productive year for papercraft, but I hope to get back in the swing of things in the next twelve months. One thing I want to do is to add more papercraft skulls to my video game skull series. Pictured are some of my “work in progress” skulls. Fourth Anniversary!

Four years ago today I started blogging about my favorite hobby, papercraft! Here's thanks to every one who has supported my humble efforts over the years. It was only last year that it dawned on me that the anniversary of Tektonten Papercraft was also Guy Fawkes Day. So to celebrate anniversary day this year I have rounded up four different printable Guy Fawkes masks, two which are 3D and two which are 2D. Third Anniversary!

"Remember remember the fifth of November.." Today marks the third anniversary of Tektonten Papercraft and for the first time it occurred to me that this date is also Guy Fawkes Day, that uniquely British holiday that figures so prominently in V for Vendetta. Two Year Anniversary!

Today marks the second anniversary of Tektonten Papercraft! As I did for last year's anniversary, I am sharing a photo of a shelf in my office and also some stats for the Tektonten blog. In the photo is my "Tron shelf" where I keep most of my Tron papercraft. Some of the stats for the last year are:

• Number of page views in the past 12 months: a little over 1,000,000 (That's exactly twice as many as year one!)
• Number of downloads of my papercraft designs: 80,000 and counting
• Number of papercraft designs released to date: 58
