Illusion Papercraft Collection

Illusion Animal Bastelbogen
The folks at the education website, e*chalk, have a collection of papercraft illusions available for download. Sure, you know the illusion, the one where the character's head turns to follow you no matter where you move in the room. E*chalk calls their version of this trick "Swivel Heads". Four of the twelve illusions available are pictured. The ones not pictured are a cat, a fox, a dragon, a knight, a duck, a horse, a rooster and a skeleton. I wouldn't build too many of these.  The effect of a dozen pair of eyes following your every move can be kind of creepy! ;)

Other Illusion Papercraft:

Robot Dog
Tyrannosaurus Rex
Rolling Dice
Doge the Shiba Inu
Disney Hitchhiking Ghosts

Ghost of a Tale Papercraft

Every so often, the creators of the Ghost of a Tale video game will post a free paper model of a character from the game. Two models have been released to date: Tilos, a minstrel mouse and Kerold Redwhiskers, a pirate frog. Printable PDF templates for both models may be downloaded here. Ghost of a Tale was partially inspired by the Redwall novel series by Brian Jacques, which like the game features anthropomorphic animals in a fantasy world with a medieval flavor.

Other Fantasy Character Papercraft:

Gaiman's Dream and Death
German Gnome
Little Prince
Cthulhu Mythos Creatures

More Mouse Guard Paper Toys

Sometime, when I wasn't paying attention, David Petersen went and added five new Mouse Guard paper toys to his list of offerings! New to the collection are Gwendolyn, Piper, Rand, Midnight and Conrad (not pictured). Petersen, of course, is the creative genius behind the Mouse Guard comic books on which the paper toys are based. All ten of the toys in Petersen's papercraft series may be downloaded here.

New Mouse Guard Papercaft

Comic book artist and author David Peterson has added three more characters to his collection of Mouse Guard papercraft! New to the set are are Kenzie, Saxon, and Celanawe (the three rightmost mice in the photo). Previously released were Lieam and Sadie. Free PDF templates for all five mice may be downloaded here. It is a very cool thing when comic book artists produce papercraft of their own characters!

UPDATE 8/18/22: There are five more mice available! See here.

Mouse Guard is an award winning comic book series written and illustrated by David Petersen. David has begun creating paper toy likenesses of characters from his comics.  Currently available are PDF templates for the mice, Sadie and Lieam, who are sword wielding mice sworn to protect the common mouse against threats of predator, weather, and wilderness. Mickey Mouse Paper Toys

Back in 2009, designer Matt Hawkins created two Mickey Mouse paper toys. On the left is Mickey as he looked in his first cartoon, Steamboat Willie. On the right is the modern version of Mickey we all know and love. A download of the toys is still available here. The zip file contains both the paper models pictured above and also a papercraft stage on which to display them. Build photos above are by George Dunkley and Methuup da Funky One.

UPDATE 3/3/2019: Donald Duck and Goofy paper toys by Matt are available here.

Rat Chef Origami

Here is a delightful origami piece by Nguyen Hung Cuong which he calls "Rat Chef" (an homage to Disney Pixar's Ratatouille perhaps? ^^). The rat, the chef hat and the spoon were each folded from separate piece of paper. The folding pattern for the rat (spoon and hat not included) may be downloaded from Cuong's page here.
