Life Size Velociraptor Skeleton Papercraft

DeviantART member Gedelgo is a master at creating low poly papercraft. Completed in 2015, I consider this life size velociraptor skeleton to be his most ambitious project. From nose to tail, the model is 6.6' (2 M) in length. Constructing the model is a challenge. First, there are no instructions. Second, the model will not stand on its own and must be rigged with wire in order for it to hold together. Heavy cardstock or cardboard are recommended as the construction material. Star Trek Tricorder Papercraft

Way back in 2012, I released a life sized Star Trek medical tricorder papercraft (see original blog post here). Recently, I came across a very similar tricorder model which I hadn't seen before. It was released by the MMORPG, Star Trek Online, around 2016. A copy of the single page JPG template for the model is still available on Reddit.

Comparing the two models, the advantage of the STO model is it is designed with interior supports which make the model stronger if used for cosplay. The advantage of my model is that it comes with a handheld scanner in addition to the tricorder.

Minecraft Papercraft: Diamond Pickaxe

In the Minecraft video game, pickaxes are used to mine rocks and ores. There are six different types of pickaxes: wooden, stone, iron, golden, diamond, and netherite. This life size papercraft pickaxe is of the diamond variety. This papercraft was offered by the now defunct FPSXGames website. A copy of the template for the pickaxe may be downloaded from the archived page located: HERE. The template consists of four .PNG image files which were sized to be printed on A4 size cardstock (however printing to Letter size paper using "scale to fit" should work just fine).

Mass Effect Heavy Pistol Papercraft

This life size paper model is of the "N7 Eagle" heavy pistol from the Mass Effect 3 video game. The N7 has been described as "a compact, fully automatic pistol that delivers unprecedented accuracy and punch with a rapid firing rate". This papercraft was created by DeviantART member Artbetep. PDF and Pepakura PDO templates may be downloaded at his DeviantART page. The PDO file in was intended to be the instructions for the model.  Mass Effect 3 was released in 2012 and was the final installment of the original trilogy of Mass Effect video games.

Pokémon Papercraft: Litten

Against my better judgement, after 7 years away, I have started playing the Pokémon Go video game again. Of course this inspires me to post more Pokémon papercraft. :) First up is this Litten papercraft by DeviantART member, RavaMaster. Litten is a seventh generation Pokémon that is basically a fire cat. It spits out flaming hairballs. Ha! In the anime, Ash Ketchum catches a Litten and manages, over time, to fully evolve it. The paper model comes in two sizes: 6" (15 cm) and life size. The template for the model is available in two formats: Pepakura PDO (open with Pepakura Viewer) and PDF. Half-Life 1 Papercraft: 357 Magnum

Someone correctly guessed the four images on my 15th anniversary post. So, as a "prize", I am releasing this paper model of the 357 Magnum from the Half-Life 1 video game. Printable templates for the model may be downloaded from Mediafire. Included in the ZIP download are a locked Pepakura PDO file (for reference when building), plus A4 and Letter size PDF templates. I tried to make the model as close to 1:1 scale as possible. You will notice the gun has no finger hole at the trigger! The 3D model that was the basis of this papercraft didn't have the hole and I chose to leave it as it was. If you are good at customizing papercraft, it should be no big deal to cut in a finger hole if you want one.

Egyptian Funerary Mask Papercraft

This life size papercraft mask is very close in design to the gold funerary mask of pharaoh Tutankhamun. However, it is missing some of the features of King Tut's mask like the vulture and the cobra on the forehead. I don't know the author of this paper model, but a link in the template seems to indicate it originated in Russia. The unlocked Pepakura PDO template for the model may be downloaded on Mediafire.

Shark Head Papercraft

This shark head is a little more realistic that your typical low poly papercraft wall hanging. However, as it is still composed of angular shapes, it makes for a relatively easy build. The finished model is around 20"(50 cm) high. If the model is considered to be life size, it would be close to the size of a small to medium sized shark. The Pepakura PDO template for the model may be downloaded on this webpage. The creator of this papercraft is Longbow.

Skyrim Papercraft: Glass Sword

The last time I posted a Skyrim papercraft was 2015. I am overdue! Pictured is a 1:1 scale paper model of a glass sword from the video game. How can a sword be made of glass you say? The Elder Scrolls Wiki explains:

"Despite their name, 'glass' weapons are not made of actual glass, but of refined Malachite, a strong, glass-like green stone which can be sharpened to a fine edge..."

This model was created by Broken Papercrafts. The template is available in Pepakura PDO format only and may be downloaded here. The download includes two textures, one to make a green bladed sword, and another to make one that is blue bladed (pictured).

Life Size Prince of Persia Papercraft

The Prince of Persia video game franchise got its start in 1989. Numerous games have been released since that time, the most recent to date being the 2018 mobile app, Prince of Persia: Escape. The protagonist of these games is a nameless hero known simply as "The Prince". This life size paper model of The Prince was created by DeviantART member Beav3rboy. It is based on a 3D model from the 2004 Prince of Persia: Warrior Within game. The unlocked Pepakura PDO template may be downloaded here. This model is not for beginners as the creator warns that some "manual modding" of the model may be required on the feet and sword to get things to come out right. The finished model is 75" (190 cm) tall.

Low Poly Spider-Man Wall Art

There is a lot of low poly papercraft on the Internet these days. Most of it, you have to pay to get it. So, I was delighted to find this free low poly Spider-Man wall sculpture recently. This is one of those paper models where you achieve color by printing a colorless template onto color cardstock.  Notice the chrome cardstock used for the eyes! If this papercraft is not life sized, it is close to it. The template and instructions may be found at Lacrafta. And I should also mention there are Iron Man, Captain America's shield, and Hulk low poly models available too! Check them out when you visit Lacrafta.

Life Size Pokemon Papercraft: Eevee

When it comes to 1:1 scale papercraft, there haven't been many Pokemon models created. One exception is this life size Eevee paper model by Sabi96. The color PDF template for this model comes with a companion untextured Pepakura PDO file to use as instructions. All the files are available here. The finished model is 12" (30.5 cm) tall. Eight different Pokemon evolve from Eevee (see paper toys of them here).

DBZ Papercraft: Life Size Vegeta

It's been a while since I posted a Dragonball Z papercraft. This one's sure to please. It's a life size model of Vegeta from PaperJuke!  Now the question is, how tall is "life size"? The Dragon Ball wiki states that Vegeta is 5'-4" (164 cm) tall. Juke's model, however, is 6'-3" (190 cm) tall, but that includes 11" (26 cm) of hair, so I think Juke is spot on with his scaling! Life Size Baby Groot Papercraft

In the Marvel movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, a group of Ravagers (think space pirates) capture Baby Groot. They dress him in clothes and declare he is now their mascot. This life size paper model of Groot in Ravager clothes was created by PJ Exelero Papercraft. The finished model stands about 12" (30 cm) and comes with a display base. Life Size Harley Quinn Papercraft

Harley Quinn is one of several DC Comics bad guys to appear in the 2016 movie, Suicide Squad. This life size paper model of Harley in her Suicide Squad garb was originally created by Unfold Brazil to be 19.7" (50 cm) tall. Desiring something a little taller, DeviantART member Kirob3rus modified UB's papercraft template to produce a finished model that stands 5' 8" (1.73 M) tall! Kirob3rus' Pepakura PDO template for the model may be downloaded here. Harley Quinn's first appearance in the DC Comics Universe was not in a comic book but as the Joker's sidekick in a 1992 episode of Batman: The Animated Series.

Life Size Papercraft Majora's Mask

Here is another excellent Zelda papercraft from Otaku Crafts: a life size Majora's Mask. Love those vibrant colors! I also like that the mask is large enough that it can be worn as part of a Halloween costume (although it might take more than a single strand of elastic string to keep it on your face ^^). Avengers Papercraft: Ultron Head

A long standing enemy of the Avengers in comic books by Marvel, the super-villain Ultron has now been introduced into the Marvel cinematic universe as well. This life-size Ultron head by Gankutsu-o-Taku is one of the first contributions to the wave of papercraft fan art that is sure to follow the release of the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie last week. The Pepakura PDO template for the head is available here. As this papercraft is life-size, theoretically it could be modified to become an Ultron mask!

And in this corner, standing at 2 meters tall (yet weighing only a few pounds)... It's a life size papercraft Hulk! This is one of those paper models you have to be a little crazy to build. It wouldn't hurt to have a stockpile of ink cartridges for your printer either. The two part, 383 page Pepapkura PDO template was created by Metal Heart at Paper Juke and may be downloaded here.

Life Size Dragon Ball Z Papercraft

Goku and Kid Buu are characters in both the Dragon Ball Z manga and the animated television series. In the manga, Kid Buu is the final villain encountered by the Dragon Ball heroes. Life-size Papercraft R2-D2

DeviantART member Adisko built a life-size papercraft of everyone's favorite Star Wars droid, R2-D2! The Pepakura PDO template for the lovable robot (available here) consists of 76 pages of parts and is sure to deplete the ink in your printer. ;) The template is based on a 3D model by Ivanproff and unfolded by Cuguel. Along with C-3PO, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, R2-D2 is one of only four characters to have appeared in all six Star Wars movies to date.
