Kingdom Hearts Papercraft: Dream Rod
After completing a papercraft Dream Sword from the Kingdom Hearts II video game, I set my sights on producing paper models of the other two "dream" weapons from the game. Here at long last is another one in the set: the Dream Rod. The Dream Rod is a mystic weapon and as such it is wielded by Donald Duck, who in the game is the Royal Magician. If you observe the Dream Rod during game play its seems to be about baseball bat size, but for this model I chose to make it closer to "magic wand size" at around 24" (61 cm) long. The PDF template for the Rod may be downloaded here.

Is there an easy way to change the size for making it larger or smaller? Was wondering the same thing for the Dream Sword, and will eventually for the Shield...
ReplyDeleteOne easy way to make smaller models is to print two pages of the PDF per each sheet of cardstock. Going larger is always more of a pain because some pieces then won't fit on a sheet of cardstock so the model has to be re-designed and broken into smaller pieces.
DeleteCould you possibly send me the model, or make it around 55 cm long so its more 'lifesize' I tried to make mine but the whole thing was lopsided after building.
ReplyDeleteThe current model is 61 cm so you are wanting it smaller apparently? Compared to the size the rod appears in the game, IMO the rod should be larger in order to be life size... But be that as it may, email me at the address on my profile and I will see if I can re-size it for you. I can't help you on the lopsided thing though. :)
DeleteIt says that the file is not available?
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know. Problem fixed. Try again.
DeleteWill we ever see the dream shield?
ReplyDeleteYes, I plan on making a dream shield. Now if my personal life will cooperate and give me some spare time to work on it... :)
