Papercraft Green Lantern Rings of Power

In the DC Comics universe, the members of the Green Lantern Corp each wear a green power ring. Including the Green Lantern Corp, there are a total of nine different Lantern Corps. Each corp is represented by a different color. The colors of the corps cover the seven colors of the rainbow, plus black and white.

Designer "Tkamen" has created papercraft templates for the rings of power for each of the lantern corps, five of which are shown above. The PDO format templates may be downloaded here. The finished rings are rather large with a 1 1/2" (3.8 cm) diameter. I wanted a smaller scale Green Lantern ring, so I took the liberty of creating a scaled down version of the template in PDF format which is available here. Unfortunately, there are no instructions available for building the rings other than the PDO.

UPDATE 10/6/2012: The download above for scaled down green ring template now includes scaled down templates for the red and blue rings as well!

    1. Maybe. I can't guarantee anything. It takes a lot of work to resize the rings and I don't have much time right now.

    1. The original download works fine for me. Not sure why you are having a problem. Resizing the rings takes a lot of time which is precisely why I didn't resize all the rings previously. I can't guarantee anything, but maybe sometime in the future I will be able to make scaled versions of the other rings.

  9. Can you tell me how big the new rings are? Also is it possible to re-size those rings with pepakura viewer to make custom sized ones? Cause I tried it with designer and it asks for a password which I don't know :/

    1. The inside diameter of the new rings is between 3/4" and 1". I don't know of any way of re-sizing templates with Pepakura viewer. You might be able to scale the template with your printer if it has a scaling feature. Good luck.

    2. I manage to convert the PDO to a PDF, then I made the PDF into images and with photoshop I re-sized them and printed them out. Now they fit to my finger perfectly. I'm making them all of them to see how they''ll look and they turn out quit good. Too bad the lanterns aren't available :/

    1. The original creator of the PDO did not provide the password and there is no way of getting it. However, the PDO will open with Pepakura Viewer. From the Pep Viewer you can either print to PDF and resize the PDF in Photoshop or use the scaling feature on your printer and print to a smaller size directly from the PDO.
