Papercraft Santa's House

For Christmas, Canon Creative Park has a papercraft Santa Claus house available for download here. The house has several fun features. The door and windows on the front of the house open so you can peek at what's going on inside. Can't see enough? Give the tab on the right side a pull and the interior of the house comes out revealing two floors with furniture, elves and Mr. and Mrs. Claus. There's even some friendly mice hiding between the floor joists. Want a better view yet? Pull another tab and the whole first floor slides out. This papercraft is a perfect family project for the holiday season.

Christmas Paper Toys: Naughty and Nice Santas

It's getting close to Christmas. Have you been naughty or nice this year? The Fold Up Toys website will let you know. All you have to do is click on the download button for their Santa paper toy. If you have been naughty, you will receive a creepy Santa. If you have been nice, your download will be a cute, cheerful Santa. The nice Santa comes with a gift wrapped present. The naughty Santa comes with a lump of coal. I was naughty and clicked the download button more than once so I could get both toys. ;)

Papercraft Warhawk Tanks

Here is some more promotional papercraft for the 2007 Warhawk video game. Previously, I posted two Warhawk aircraft models. Along with the aircraft, these two tank models were also released by Sony. Papercraft Power Ranger Christmas Ornaments

Nickelodeon has printable Power Rangers for your Christmas tree! These papercraft ornaments were designed with children in mind and are easy to build. The bodies are 3D while the head, arms, and legs are 2D. Pictured are four of the five Rangers available (Black Ranger not shown). A PDF file with templates for all five Rangers may be downloaded here. I am no Power Ranger expert, but I think these ornaments are the incarnation of the Rangers that were on TV in 2016: Power Rangers Dino Super Charge (Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger in Japan).

Ghost of a Tale Papercraft

Every so often, the creators of the Ghost of a Tale video game will post a free paper model of a character from the game. Two models have been released to date: Tilos, a minstrel mouse and Kerold Redwhiskers, a pirate frog. Printable PDF templates for both models may be downloaded here. Ghost of a Tale was partially inspired by the Redwall novel series by Brian Jacques, which like the game features anthropomorphic animals in a fantasy world with a medieval flavor.

In 2007, Sony released a collection of paper models to promote their aerial warfare video game, Warhawk. Pictured are the two aircraft models featured in the collection. 11th Anniversary!

Today is the 11th anniversary of Tektonten Papercraft! In the photo are all the pizza paper toys I have released to date. The oldest is the McDonald's pizza which I posted in February 2009! The newest (Freddy Fazbear's pizza) was posted just yesterday. The original posts for each pizza may be found here. FNAF Pizza Paper Toy

My goal was to release this paper toy before Halloween, but as you can see, I didn't make it. :) This is the eighth entry in my ongoing series of pizza paper toys. The toy is a miniature pizza from Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, the fictional restaurant featured in the spooky video game Five Nights at Freddy's. I wanted an equally creepy pizza for the box, so this one is a seafood pizza covered in mussels, squid, prawns, and crab (blech!). Printable PDFs for the toy may be downloaded here.

Polygonal Nike of Samothrace Papercraft

The Nike of Samothrace or "Winged Victory" statue is one of the most famous statues on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris. It is thought to have been sculpted in the 2nd century BC as part of a monument to commemorate a naval victory. This simplified 3D polygonal paper model of the Nike was created by DeviantART member Gedelgo. Downloads of PDF and Pepakura PDO templates may be found here. The finished model stands about 15.75" (40 cm) tall.

Fantasy Castle Paper Model

Mike vom Mars used Cinema4D 3D modeling software to create a make-believe medieval castle. He then exported the model to Pepakura Designer and created a papercraft template. Pictured is a photo of the finished paper model with some grass and trees added for effect. Mike admits the architecture of the model is an odd mixture of styles seeing how he added a dome which was rarely used in the Middle Ages. 1969 Chevy El Camino Papercraft

The Chevrolet El Camino was first introducing in 1959. Called a "coupe utility vehicle" by some, it was basically a station wagon adapted to have a bed like a truck. The El Camino proved popular enough that Chevy continued to produce the vehicle through the 1987 model year. This paper model of a 1969 El Camino was designed by Kin Shinozaki for Daytona Magazine. Nightmare Before Christmas Sally Papercraft

In the Nightmare Before Christmas animated movie by Tim Burton, the character Sally is a rag doll-like being brought to life by the scientist, Doctor Finkelstein. Over the course of the film, Sally struggles to find a way to express her love for the movie's protagonist, Jack Skellington, In the end, to her delight, she discovers that Jack loves her too. Beetlejuice Book Paper Toy

Here is the third entry in my ongoing series of paper toy books. This papercraft is of the handbook from the movie, Beetlejuice. In the film, the book is given to a recently deceased couple to help them adjust to having become ghosts forced to haunt their former residence. The printable PDF template for this paper toy may be downloaded here. When the finished toy is opened, inside will be visible an advertising flyer for the "bio-exorcist" Beetlejuice along with the title page of the book. Zelda Papercraft: Wolf Link and Midna

In The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess video game, the protagonist Link takes on the form of a wolf and is imprisoned in Hyrule Castle. While in the castle he meets an imp-like creature named Midna who helps him escape. This really well done paper model depicts Midna riding on Wolf Link's back. PDF and Pepakura PDO files for the model may be downloaded here. Twilight Princess is the thirteenth in the ongoing series of Legend of Zelda games.

Origami Butterflies

It has been a while since I posted any origami. Time to remedy the origami drought. ;) Here are some origami butterflies I thought were really nice. A couple of different types are pictured, but the one that interested me the most was the swallowtail butterfly. Detailed video instructions for the swallowtail may be found here. PS4 Spider-Man Papercraft

This paper model is of Spider-Man as he appears in the 2018 Playstation 4 game, Spider-Man. The wall-crawling super hero has dozens of costumes he may be fitted with in the game. Most are based on outfits Spidey wore in the comic books, however this particular costume was created specifically for the game. The Pepakura PDO template for this model may be downloaded here. Rustic Cottage Papercraft

This is my papercraft release for the month of August: a rustic cottage. I don't remember where I got the 3D model this is based on, but I have had it for a long time. I originally downloaded it to practice creating papercraft templates when I first started the hobby. The finished model is 1:48 scale, the same as Lego mini-figures and "O" scale model railroads. It might be used for miniature gaming, but it is at an odd scale for that purpose. The single page PDF template for the model may be downloaded here. Due to its small size, this model may not be suitable for beginners (I have the roof in mind). If you want an easier-to-build model, for the roof use only the piece with the red shingles, trimming away the fascia boards.  The two soffit pieces then may either be discarded or glued to the back of the shingles.

ThunderCats Lion-O Papercraft

The ThunderCats animated series ran on American television in the late 1980s. The show followed the exploits of a group of cat-like extraterrestrials from the planet Thundera. The leader of the group was a noble named Lion-O. This paper model of Lion-O was created by Titan Papercraft. It has a several cool features. First, the model includes both the dagger version and the full size version of Lion-O's Sword of Omens. Second, the arms and hands are pose-able. And finally, it comes with the Gauntlet of Omens that may be hung from Lion-O's belt or placed on his hand. The Pepakura PDO template for the model may be downloaded here.

Easy Power Rangers Megazord Papercraft

This Megazord papercraft was originally offered in 2014 as a download on the powerrangers.com website. As the model was intended for children, it was designed to be easy to build. A copy of the PDF template for the model may still be downloaded here. The Megazord was the result of all five Power Rangers combining their vehicles to form a giant robot. Just the thing you need to fight a giant monster. ;)

Star Trek Papercraft: Mini Wrath of Khan Ships

My favorite motion picture of  the original series of Star Trek movies is Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. In the film, Captain Kirk and Khan battle each other in space, Kirk in the U.S.S. Enterprise (of course!) and Khan in the U.S.S. Reliant which he has commandeered. These mini paper models of the Enterprise and the Reliant were created by Rawen. PDF templates for the ships may be downloaded here. I am not entirely sure, but I believe these models are 1:250 scale.

Mercury Capsule Paper Model

Project Mercury was the United States' first human spaceflight program. There were six flights in all. The first occurred in 1961 and the last in 1963. This 1:24 scale paper model of the Mercury capsule comes with the launch escape system (LES) used in the flights. The idea was if there was a problem with the launch, the red rocket would fire and lift the capsule off the top of the main rocket, carrying it away to safety. The printable PDF template for the capsule may be downloaded here. The model was designed by T. Noteboom in 2004.

Star Wars Laser Cannon Papercraft

This is my papercraft release for the month of July (see a list of previous releases here). You will probably recognize this weapon as a common one in the Star Wars universe. Although I have labeled it the generic term "laser cannon", it might more properly be called a "turbolaser turret". The first time we saw a weapon of this type was on the surface of the Death Star in Star Wars Episode IV. I am offering two sizes of this paper model: a 1:18 scale version for use with 3 3/4" action figures and a 35 mm scale version for use with miniature gaming figures. Templates for both sizes may be downloaded here. This papercraft was based on a 3D model from the Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy video game.

Dragon Ball Z Nappa Papercraft

In the Dragon Ball Z anime, Nappa is a warrior who once was the general of the Saiyan Army on Planet Vegeta. After the destruction of his planet, Nappa worked as a soldier under Frieza, which eventually lead him to Earth. This paper model of Nappa was created by PaperJuke. Doge Illusion Papercraft

It all started, I believe, with a dragon. It's eyes followed you no matter where you went in the room. From there, the papercraft illusion evolved into a myriad of characters, all with the same unwavering stare. Pictured is a version of the illusion that features the dog (a Shiba Inu to be precise) from the "Doge" meme. The printable template for this illusion may be downloaded here. Leonardo's Fighting Vehicle Paper Model

One of the better known inventions of Leonardo da Vinci is his military "fighting vehicle" (aka "turtle tank"). Movement of the vehicle was powered by four men inside operating hand cranks. The idea was to move into the midst of a company of enemy soldiers and then open fire with the cannons mounted around the sides. This paper model of the fighting vehicle may be downloaded at the Russian "Museum on a Desk" web page located here (the two page template is at the bottom). The style of the template reminds me a lot of the templates that used to be published in the Czech children's magazine, ABC.

Hogwarts Well Paper Model

In the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban video game, one of the tasks is to rid a water well on Hogwarts grounds from an infestation of Cornish pixies. If the player succeeds in the task, the well is inadvertently destroyed. This is a paper model of the well as it appears in the game. The model is 1:18 scale (the same scale as 3 3/4" action figures). The PDF template for the model may be downloaded here. This is my papercraft release for the month of June in a year long celebration of ten years of Tektonten Papercraft. As far as I know, this well isn't mentioned in any of the Harry Potter books, nor does it appear in any of the movies. The well's location in the video game is on the edge of the Forbidden Forest near Hagrid's Hut.

Crash Bandicoot Papercraft

This Crash Bandicoot papercraft is the creation of DeviantART member Pesadillaaa3. Undoubtedly the model was based on a 3D model from one of the many video games in the Crash Bandicoot franchise, but I am not entirely sure which one. My only experience with the franchise has been Crash Team Racing (which I highly recommend). The Pepakura PDO template for the model may be downloaded here. Most of the Crash Bandicoot games take place on a fictional island near Australia that is home to a group of mutant animals (like Crash).

Guild Wars Moa Papercraft

In the Guild Wars online role-playing game, one of the tamable animals available to players is a moa. Real life moas were large flightless birds that once lived in New Zealand, but were hunted to extinction after Polynesian groups migrated to their habitat in the thirteenth century. Some moa species grew close to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall! In 2011, Guild Wars released a collection of holiday papercraft. One of the models in the collection was a moa as it appears in the game. Godzilla 2014 MUTO Paper Model

The movie, Godzilla (2014), introduced a new breed of monster to the Godzilla-verse. These new monsters are referred to as “MUTOs” which is an acronym for "Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism". It is a generic term for newly discovered monsters who have yet to be given a formal name. The pair of MUTOs in Godzilla (2014) are mates who are seeking to reproduce. This paper model of the female MUTO was created by WR Papercrafts. A download of the template for the model may be found here. Both PDF and Pepakura PDO files are included. The finished model is about 19.5" (24 cm) tall. *Spoiler Alert* Although both MUTOs died in Godzilla (2014), it is rumored that another MUTO of the same breed makes an appearance in the newly released movie, Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Falcon Heavy with Tesla Roadster Paper Model

The Falcon Heavy is a rocket produced by Elon Musk's company, SpaceX. For the Falcon Heavy's first launch into space, Musk had his own red Tesla Roadster attached to the second stage to act as a dummy payload. In the driver's seat of the roadster is a mannequin wearing a spacesuit. The mannequin was dubbed "Starman" before the launch. AXM Paper Space Scale Models has created a free 1:100 scale paper model of the Falcon Heavy which includes Musk's Tesla. The files for the model may be downloaded here. Build options include building the entire Falcon Heavy or building a diorama of just the second stage (pictured above).

MCU Infinity Gauntlet Papercraft

I've been on the lookout for a well designed Infinity Gauntlet paper model that is also free. I think I may have finally found what I have been looking for! This 1:1 scale model of Thanos' glove was created by Paperttore at LED Papercraft. The model represents how the Gauntlet appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe rather than how it appears in the original comic books. The download (which may be found here) contains both PDF and Pepakura PDO templates. In case you have been living under a rock... :) The Infinity Gauntlet plays an important role in both the Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame movies.

Grateful Dead Pizza Paper Toy

In 2015, Giordano's Pizza in Chicago commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead with special pizza boxes featuring the rock band's logo. This paper toy replica of that box is the seventh release in my pizza paper toy series. Inside the GD box is a paper likeness of Giordano's renouned stuffed deep dish pizza which has upper and lower crusts, fillings on the inside, and sauce on top. League of Legends Teemo Papercraft

Teemo is one of several playable champions in the League of Legends video game. Teemo is a Yordle. Yordles live in a mystical place called Bandle City. In appearance they resemble small, furry mammals standing just under one meter tall. This Teemo paper model is the creation of DeviantART member Zhefiroth. Pokemon Papercraft: Mewtwo

Once upon a time, when there were only 151 to catch, perhaps the rarest (and most powerful) Pokemon was Mewtwo. Part of what made Mewtwo so rare was that it was not a natural Pokemon. It came to exist only because of a genetic experiment performed by a group of scientists. This Mewtwo paper model has the Pokemon in its classic pose, alert and ready to unleash a psychic attack. The papercraft template for the model was created by Darkcrash and may be downloaded here. The download includes both Pepakura PDO and PDF files. The finished model stands is around 19.7" (50 cm) tall.

1997 Chevy Corvette Paper Model

This 1997 Corvette paper model is one of several papercraft cars designed by Kim Shinozaki for Daytona, a Japanese car magazine that showcases American cars. The papercraft template for the Corvette was originally published in the June 1997 issue of Daytona. A scan of the template may be found here. The scale of the finished model is 1/25.

Papercraft John Constantine Bust

Being a Marvel Comics fan, I don't typically produce DC Comics paper models. However... Recently, as a favor for someone, I created this papercraft bust of John Constantine. Now, I am sharing the template here as my papercraft release for the month of April (just in the nick of time!) In the DC Universe, John Constantine is an "occult detective" who uses magic to defend mankind from supernatural forces of evil. The printable PDF template for the bust may be downloaded here. I have not test built this model, but I think it will come together nicely. The finished model is a little over 8 1/2" (21.6 cm) tall.

Digimon Papercraft: Botamon

In the Digimon universe, a Botamon is in essence just a baby Digimon. Its only attack is to blow bubbles from its mouth. This papercraft Botamon was created by Precision Papercraft. Rocket and Groot Papercraft

Sadly, Groot is currently gone from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. *Sniff* But perhaps things will change when Avengers: Endgame is released on April 26th! Until then, we can pass the time by building some Marvel papercraft! ;) This Rocket Raccoon and Groot pair was created by the fine folks at UnfoldBrazil. M3 Lee Tank Paper Model

The United States M3 Lee tank was named after the Confederate general Robert E. Lee. The M3 first saw action in World War 2 in 1941. A total of 6,258 of the tanks were manufactured. This small (1/72 scale) paper model of the tank was created by Box Studio of Japan. PDF templates and instructions for the papercraft may be downloaded here.

Real Steel Noisy Boy Robot Papercraft

The 2011 movie Real Steel features giant fighting robots. The protagonist robot in the film is a blue Japanese-built robot named "Noisy Boy". Before the movie premiered, two free paper models of Noisy Boy were released as a promotion. One model was a simplified, easy-to-build version (pictured on the right) and the other was a more detailed version (pictured on the left). A download of the PDF templates for both models may be found here. Instructions are included in the download. The designer of these models is DeviantART member ThunderChildFTC.

Wolfenstein Luger Pistol Papercraft

This is my papercraft offering for the month of March (a list of previous monthly papercraft may be found here). Years ago, when I first started doing my own papercraft, I did quite a few life-size models based on simple objects in old video games. This Luger pistol from the Return to Castle Wolfenstein video game is one such model I never got around to releasing (until now). Wolfenstein is a WW2 themed game and many of the German enemies in the game carry this Luger. You will notice the game designers didn't even bother to put a trigger on the gun. ^^ The PDF template for the gun may be downloaded here.

Harry Potter Burrow Paper Model

In the Harry Potter universe, the family of Harry's friend, Ron Weasley, live in an odd, magical house called "The Burrow". This paper model of the domicile by Claudio Dias is based on how the house appears in the Harry Potter movies. Harry first visited The Burrow in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Fallout 3 Bottlecap Mine Papercraft

In the Fallout 3 video game, players can create an explosive device from found objects which include a lunchbox and bottle caps. This full size paper model of the so-called "bottlecap mine" was crafted with meticulous care by Broken Papercrafts. The illusion of the papercraft mine being real is enhanced by coloring the edges of the card stock and the addition of some bits of wire here and there. Disney Paper Toys: Goofy and Donald

I have always admired the cartoony goodness of Matt Hawkins' papercraft. Waaay back in 2008 Matt produced a collection of promotional Disney paper toys that included Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy. I did a post about the Mickey Mouse toy here. However, I was never able to locate any of the rest of the toys... until now (thanks to Joe V.) The Donald Duck and Goofy paper toys may be downloaded here. Now if I can just find Minnie, my set will be complete. Build photo by Matt Hawkins.

Japanese Emperor Butterfly Papercraft

The Japanese Emperor butterfly is found in every part of the main island of Japan. It is easily identified by its distinctive purple color. This paper model of the butterfly is offered by the Konica Minolta company on their website. Judging by the size of the template, it appears the finished model is slightly larger than life. The scientific name of the Japanese Emperor is "Sasakia Charonda".

Star Wars Green Airspeeder Paper Model

This papercraft airspeeder is based on a 3D model from the 2003 video game Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. It is similar in many respects to Zam Wasell's airspeeder in Star Wars Episode II. I made the model approximately 1:48 scale which is a scale that fits both Lego figures and Wizard of the Coast's Star Wars Miniatures figures. The model may look simple to build, but I give it a solid 4 out of 5 difficulty level. The template may be downloaded here. This is my papercraft release for February 2019 as promised in November.
