Roman Helmet Papercraft Models

These 1:1 scale papercraft Roman military helmets were created by Hans-Dieter Richter of Berlin, Germany. On the left is a centurion's helmet and on the right is a legionary's helmet. Centurions typically commanded anywhere from 80 to 100 legionaries in the Roman military system. The templates for these helmets may be found here and here.

  3. Hey I'm trying to make 4 legionary helmets and also a centurion helmet for a play. The design is really awesome! It's very accurate to what the real thing is. But the directions/instructions are a little confusing. Think you can email me an easier way to make em?

Can you also tell me what else I need to have other than the papers?

  4. I'm sorry, but I don't have any easier instructions available to send you. You will have to contact the creator of the helmets at the website where they are located. Other good supplies to have when papercrafting are an exacto knife to cut parts out and a quick drying "tacky" type glue. Good luck!

    1. The easiest way to make it significantly larger is to print to a larger size of paper and use "fit to printable area".

  9. I made a lorica segmentata costume for a skit, but I do not have a helmet. I like how your centurion helmet looks, but every time I try the link it doesn't work for me. Is the link perhaps broken? I'm hoping it's not my end.

  10. I tried both links just now and they worked for me. I am not sure why you are having a problem.
